Maiden- If I knew the person well... not necessarily besties but well enough I'd consider it... but she'd have to approach me and me alone first, because it really doesn't matter what hubby thinks if I am not on board. BUT I think it's important to mention that I have struggled with infertility and have had many friends struggle even more. I know ppl who have been TTC for over a decade, tried IVF and all and still have no baby :( SO I think that makes me unusually open to helping others start their family. In my case, I kinda think similar to you in that I'd never be okay with DH being an anonymous donor and knowing he may have kids somewhere that we don't know about and can have nothing to do with their lives.
Bottom line, the others are probably better ones to get advice from in this instance but if you decide to go ahead I would approach the wife alone first to help show you aren't trying to be sly and that you are respecting her feelings and marriage. Even better would be to not come out and ask at all, but rather slip it into a conversation where it feels natural (like when talking about kids) that you are trying to have one of your own and seeking a known donor but having a hard time finding an ideal donor. No more than that. Let that settle in and see what there reaction is. If favorable then you could consider approaching the wife. But as I said, the other's advice might be the better option... I view things a bit differently than most :/
In addition to what XX said, if you want to be 100% sure you don't miss O you can BD all cycle long, not just once or twice after you think you Oed. It's good for sperm health too.
two, thanks so much, I think just mentioning my need for/use of a sperm donor in the context of a larger conversation is a great suggestion. And I wouldn't have likely thought of that bc I automatically approach things as directly as possible. Subtlety is so not my forte. I will feel her out and keep your idea in mind next time I see her. She may know a single guy who wants kids andmI'm open to any suggestions so it could be a success regardless. It's not like I have a burning desire for just this man's sperm or anything like that!
Maiden, I agree with Two. I would approach the wife individually before even mentioning it to the husband. I would be willing to consider it also, but I also have experience with infertility via my sister and SIL. I actually offered them both to use my uterus and eggs. I'd be open to my husband helping out someone ttc but I might be jaded too. LOL! My other sister is looking for an anonymous sperm donor. I offered my DH's, but she thought it would be weird. You don't sound like you'd be super upset if they turned you down though, so that helps. FX it works out for you! :D
Hi ladies! I'm back ttc again this cycle. I'm on cd8 and tonight is my last dose of 50mg clomid. This will be our 10th cycle ttc. It's so disheartening. I took a break from the clomid. I've never had problems ttc in the past and after my miscarriage at the beginning on September, I thought that we should try naturally for a while. Well, I didn't get pregnant. So, here we are again with the clomid. I hate the way clomid makes me feel. This cycle has been really difficult emotionally for me, so I really hope this cycle is successful. I guess we are having an extremely loose sway. I've been on a loose pcos version of the LE diet for a year now. I'd like to say that I'm super sick of it, but it's second nature now. I find myself choosing chicken over red meat all the time (I used to never eat chicken. Like literally never). We'll be having tons of attempts because I'm at the point that I just want to be preggo. I'm thinking like every day from tonight until cd22. That's how I got pregnant in July (my September m/c) Sorry for rambling! :) I'm glad to be back but hope it's a short stay. ;) Good luck to everyone!
Maiden poor you having to find a donor on top of all this tccc stuff, that is stressful! I really like two idea of dropping it into the conversation, it could let you suss them out but also as you suggest they may know someone else. If you plan to ask them directly I would be on the side of asking them at the same time, so nothing is lost in translation so to speak, with one of them hearing second hand and increased possibility of miss communication and misinterpretation!

So this morning I woke up super sick and even threw up so I got excited and decided to test today at 9dpo. BFN with a FRER. I ended up with diarrhea and now body aches and a low 100 degree fever so I think I've just come down with a stomach bug! All I've eaten the entire day is a string cheese, applesauce, and Gatorade! Blah!
Only in the TWW would we get excited about throwing up. ;) So sorry you're not feeling well Essnce! Tummy bugs are no fun. :(

Hi yarranabbe, I'm 1 or 2dpo so not far behind you. I always get sore nipples for the first few days after ovulation, its one of the signs that helps me know I have ovulated so it is handy :)

Well, I decided not to take my last dose of clomid last night. I've been having a lot of side effects this time and just can't imagine having to take an additional pill. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt. :/ I've just had so much nausea and dizziness. My head has been feeling really weird. Clomid is the only thing that I've changed, so I know it isn't something else. Hopefully it'll wear off in a few days. How is everyone feeling today? :)
Welcome back momamia and welcome yarranabbe. I've been purposely staying busy and avoiding ttc sites! Af was supposed to start today and didn't. I know that since I had the chemical it could mess my cycle up a bit. My usual lp is 11 days and with the chemical it was 19! I had the trigger shot so won't test early. I just don't feel pregnant though.
I'm actually feeling absolutely nothing except this weird discomfort just in my cervix/vagina area. Sorry for tmi but it almost feels like it's contracted a little bit. I've had this before too. Does anyone know why that happens? Or what the discomfort is from?

Purple- I'm 1 or 2 Dpo today. Feeling it's probably only 1 dpo. Temp rose a bit yesterday but not into my usual post o range. Today however it rose a lot & is in my usual post o range.
Momamia- fx you get your bfp this cycle too.
Quinn - fx af stays away & you get a bfp.
Now that my temp has jumped into post o range dh can have tonight off bd. We have bd for 5 nights straight. No morning bd due to dd3 waking too early.

My temp jumped this morning. I put in a few high temps for the next few days and Ff can't detect ovulation with my wierd chart. I'm thinking cd29 is my o date.
I am 1 dpo today. I had the most awful awful ovulation pains yesterday arvo I have never had o pain like it. Second month of clomid. I was watching movie with hubby I couldn't even concentrate on it I had to take nurofen and go to bed. Still a bi of stabbing pain this morning , the pain has only been in my left side......

this is me every month with the O pain!!! It's crippling. I know it's hard to believe when you don't normally get it but it's still normal, esp. on Clomid.
My recommendation is sex with female O even though I know it sounds like the last thing you want to do, it realy helps.
Thanks Atomic, I do usually suffer from o pain where it hurts to sit don or sneeze but this was something else!! Similar pain but so intense hubby was concerned! I did actually have the big o yesterday which was before the pain started. Maybe I should try again today as i am still uncomfortable.

I got my shift yesterday (Thursday) morning and as of today my signs are trending toward infertile but not there just yet (for example my CM is an EW/Creamy mix) so I am thinking I prob O'd in the later hours on Wen night... soon enough to get a shift but late enough to not go completely infertile today. So... now we wait *sigh*

Same here. I would still love to have a girl but at this point we just want a healthy bean no matter the gender. We r just ready to put the TTC part of our lives out to pasture and move on with our lives whatever that future may hold.Quote:

Oh I know what you mean!!! Our ds2 is 3.5 now and I don't want a really big gap. I just want to move on with life too. Build a house ect . TTC has been consuming me since 2014 and I am so sick of it. Plus I need to get off this clomid as I am turning into a crazy woman

Pinkin - well done on all your bd attempts too. We only managed 5 which I'm sure is the most we've ever done when ttc. If i o'd yesterday, then we bd every night from 0-4 to 0. Fx for a bfp for you this month & sending you lots of girl dust too.

I get what you're saying pinkin. Even though this is only our 2nd cycle ttc, I have been off the pill since nov 2014 as we were originally planning to give my body a couple of natural cycles then we were going to ttc. For various reasons we kept putting it off & now I just want to be pregnant & have a baby then I can start clearing out all the baby stuff that is cluttering my house & move on with life as a family of 6. I really feel I am meant to have 4 kids, but know that I will then be done. No way can I see us having anymore than 4.Quote:

3.5 years isn't too bad, but I guess we all have our preferences. My youngest would be 6 by the time baby is born, even if I get preg like right now. I never wanted a gap that big. I think about 4 years is perfect. My kids are autistic and potty train really late (both at 4 years old). We have been trying to get preg since a couple months after my youngest potty trained and thanks to 2 early losses and a CP we are still trying. My youngest's b-day is in June and I always said that if my youngest was 6 we wouldn't be starting over. That woild put us close to my youngest being 7 by the time baby is born. Much bigger gap than we ever wanted but we have decided we have until July to get preg or we are done TTC. So, the focus at this point is less gender dreaming and more baby dreaming lol. My gap will be at least 5 years now. I guess the bonus will be the older 2 are in school so I would have days to spend just with the baby.

CD15 today and got a high reading on the advanced OPK which is quite early for me. I'd been feeling like my body is gearing up for O but wasn't sure if it was just wishful thinking.
Well af is still not here so this is the longest lp I've had but since I had the cp last month I'm not sure if my cycle might be longer. I go for beta on Sunday if I don't start. Since I had the chemical, I'm so paranoid.
I'm still having the weird vagina/cervix pain. I have no idea what it is and it's freaking me out!

My DS1 will be 13 in August and DS2 will be 7 in May so I definitely know a thing or two about big age gaps!!! If I ever manage to have a 3rd my youngest will be at least 7.5 years older!
As it's playing out though I may only end up with my two boys. I will be 35 in June and never wanted to have kids later than that.

Hang in there essnce! I'm praying you get your long awaited BFP! I can't speak to large age gaps between kids, but I can speak to age and having more kids. I really wasn't interested in having kids, believe it or not! DH said it was a deal breaker for him so I took a leap of faith, and boy am I happy I did! I had my first at 31 and my third at 36. XXforhubby, I was the same way. I never wanted kids, hubby did , I was married for 16 years and then finally felt like something was missing. Not sure if my clock started ticking or my moms passing 2 years earlier that really got me thinking over things. I had our first just after turning 37 and still Ttc #2 which is looking like I'll be 40 by the time I would have #2. It's the best thing I ever did and sometimes could kick myself for not starting earlier but so glad i had a change of heart.

FF has me at 5dpo today. I think I'm 2-3 dpo. Might have to manually override it if it doesn't change after tomorrow's temp.
I am 2 or 3 dpo today too farmgirl. When do you plan on testing? I brought a 7 pack of first response from chemist warehouse so I think I will start testing not this Monday coming but next. which will be 11 or 12dpo im thinking more like 11 dpo
