there is just no way it works. There are too many people who got boys with cutoffs. I would LOVE it if Dr. Shettles were alive today so he could simply correct his mistake and we never had to hear about it again. (seriously, EVER.) ;)

Thanks for the input! Maybe we planned it just right then :) I personally know of 2 friends who used the Shettles method and did conceive their desired gender and the only swaying they did was Shettles timing. So knowing that, the timing thing makes me a bit nervous because it is always in the back of my head that maybe it does count for something!
Congrats on your boy NYC_CNM!!
Looking back now, I don't think it was the timing that did it at all, I think it was the frequency. We had BD on O-4, O-3, O-2 and O that cycle, even though he didn't ejaculate on the day of O (this equated to CD 10, CD 11, CD 12, then CD 14). By the Shettles method, it should have been a girl, I think. By the frequent- intercourse-to-up-sperm-during-the-fertile-window method, now I'm thinking that was just right.
Good luck to you, though! My fingers are crossed, I hope you get your boy!!
See the problem is that people have heard of Shettles and then they assume that they did it. But if you hang around any TTC forums online you soon realize that even with a very high level of expertise and equipment, people simply can't pinpoint O like that without using an ultrasound machine. People have Shettles in their minds and so they think they did it, but we have NO idea whether that is true or false. Some people even think, "well I got a boy so I must have DTD right on ovulation" and then go around reporting it to everyone else as fact when the truth is that they have no idea when they ovulated and when their attempt was relative to ovulation.
The whole idea that timing was based on has been utterly debunked and scientific studies done for going on 50 years now have never been able to find any reliable link and in fact the opposite - the best studies we have show clearly 50-50 boys and girls conceived every day of the cycle.
