I can't think of anything we did with them that wasn't more blue sway related or kind of neutral except for having just come off the pill with ds1. I also had miscarriages before ds2 & ds3, but neither the pill nor losses are things I'm willing to do to get a girl. And dh isn't willing to take up smoking again (he quit just before we met)
Other than that, I've been sedentary with all my kids & even when we were eating what I consider a lot less healthy with ds1, I was still getting decent amounts of protein, lots of carbs & enough calories.
I never did j&d or took fiber or antihistamines or frequent release, etc. So doing anything I've read so far to sway girl would be the opposite of what we've done before.
yes there is. my friend who just found out she is preg with a girl (her #1 is boy) did not know LE diet. she is red meat lover (beef), fruits lover, always have breadfast. The only thing she did for sway is 4days cut off (sheatles method). Mine is failed sheatles method as I did not know LE diet before conceived DS2.
I can say is pure luck.
no matter how we sway, there is 20% of luck!
I think the most important dietary factors for a pink sway are overall calories and healthy (saturated and monosaturated) fat consumption. Reduce these two factors as much as you can and you have a good shot at a girl, IMO.
I am considering intermittent fasting (eating every other day, essentially) with a basically gender neutral diet - I am very curious if that alone is enough to sway pink. I will try it, if possible, when I sway for my second child...if/when that happens!
I do think that the diet is more important for some than others; with 4 boys, I'd personally follow the LE very strictly if I wanted a girl badly. I bet that women who have high cal & fat diets who have all girls, have girls DESPITE their diets, bc some other factor is swaying very strongly pink for them.
I'm really interested in this thread. I suffer with depression & anxiety & have found that eating a high protein diet keeps those symptoms under control. Since going LE I've become increasingly anxious & depressed & this morning I had a full blown panic attack. I'm considering going back to eating meat but counting calories & keeping them low, rather than following LE strictly. I'm so anxious my husband is starting to hint that he doesn't think we should even have another baby but I'm convinced its just the diet making me crazy.

Oh primal mama that sucks!! Being really stressed also sways blue ask atomics advice but lowering totals overall but still eating protein might be the safest bet for you, I have had anxiety and its no fun, you have to put your own health first! Good luckxx

I've conceived two girls while eating how I normally eat (I've been vegetarian for over 20 years, love cheese, but eat tons and tons of vegetables), and two girls while following a not-very-strict version of the LE diet (lower cals and fat, but not counting anything too carefully). I conceived one time when following the LE diet absolutely perfectly--super strictly and with EVERYTHING I ate recorded and accounted for. That pregnancy was a chromosomally abnormal boy.
I've always thought that following the general guideliness--fewer calories, less fat, weight loss--was much more important than keeping the diet perfectly.
I did not restrict protein when I conceived the girl I'm carrying right now.
Primalmamma - you should definitely ask Atomic if she has some ideas. I really believe that your health is the most important thing so if the diet is having such serious effects I would try to alter it so that it is not affecting you so much.
We're only able to push the odds in our favor and there will ALWAYS be luck involved with swaying. So if you need to eat more protein but try and stick to one try,etc you could still have an awesome sway and push the odds enough that you get the desired gender.
Primalmama, I think eating more protein but within the restricted cals and still eating low fat should give you a good shot. Even some change sways girl, it doesn't necessarily need to be extreme.
