I saw another thread about whether people got girls without exercising, so I thought I'd see if people got them without the diet. What if you do 6x week exercise & cut down everything, lose weight but don't actually do the diet? Has anyone tried & gotten a girl?
I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to try. If anything; we have 4 boys already & we're over 40. I can barely get a meal for everyone together most nights, much less a separate one for me.
Another stupid question. On the "skipping breakfast" thing. How many hours after waking up do most people go without eating?
Thank you.

I can't answer the first question as I don't have a girl yet and I am doing the LE diet.
For the skipping breakfast, I normally wake up at 7am during the week and don't eat anything at all till noon. So I go 5 hours from wake up to first meal. At night we eat dinner early at 5pm and then I don't eat after that, so I go about 18 hours without eating. I do 2 meals total, lunch and dinner. No snacking.Me: 35 years old. Was an infant nanny and birth and postpartum doula. Now a full time SAHM.

My friend with 2 girls has never heard of the LE diet and has never skipped a meal in her life. Of my other friends with girls, only two out of four are dieters and drink diet coke. So that's 5 ladies I know and only two dieters. Two of these are South African so eat meat constantly!
You have to remember that people have girls effortlessly all the time. What we are doing with diet, exercise etc is just upping our odds a bit.
On your other question, I get up at 515, have a coffee then go to the gym. I then eat at 12/1230 after a 16 hour fast. Atomic recommends fasting for 12-16 hours at times that suit you - there are no magic times for eating it's something to fit around your normal routine if you can do it. I started off fasting for 14 hours then gradually got to 16. I wouldn't recommend fasting for longer than that.

I don't have a girl, I am doing the diet. I eat my last meal around 7 p.m. at night (sometimes as late as 9) and do not have anything until 12-12:30 the next day. (so anywhere between 15-17 hours). I try really hard not to snack, but am not always successful.
Good luck!

Yes, you absolutely can get a girl wihtout changing your diet. You can get a girl at any point in time wihtout doing anything to sway.
Honestly, I didn't even want to make a diet but everyone insisted that I do so. You do not need to follow that diet. it's just an example. All you need to do is move in the direction of less nutrients, without cutting back too far, and it's all good.
When i was doing diet with my 4 boys and husband, I simply cooked normal foods and then I only ate the side dishes. I had no problem doing that and it worked for me.
There is no set amount of time to skip breakfast. Just go with what works for you.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I didn't follow a diet per say however, I did change how I eat. With the boys I would eat very healthy and all the time. Constant snacking on something (usually almonds or fruit). I ate meat at least once a day as well as fruits and veggies. With both my girls I ate more refined carbs and "quick" meals and less meat. These "meals" were smaller because I can't eat very many refined carbs without gaining a bunch of weight. Overall my diet was based on things that I could eat quickly and weren't high in nutrition. I also made a conscious effort to drink more alcohol. Probably averaged 1-2 drinks per day/5 days a week. I am not a good recipe/diet follower. I am more of a person who gets the big picture and then I eat what I like from there.

Girl without LE diet?
Thank you very much for the replies! I really appreciate it. I normally go from around midnight/1am to around 3/4 pm without eating, so that's close to the amount of time everyone seems to be doing.
I have never even tried to lose weight before/while ttc, so I think that aspect seems likely to help. I'm also extremely sedentary, so I was already planning more exercise, so maybe getting a girl is even more incentive.
The side dish only thing is one I hadn't thought of and would work at least some of the time. We often only have (baked) fries or some pasta for a side dish. Pretty sure I'd need more calories & nutrition than that.
Basically, I'm considering trying everything that's the opposite of what we did with the boys, plus whatever else I can find that we can safely do with our medical issues (hypothyroid/chronic fatigue for me, type 1 diabetes & high blood pressure for dh).Last edited by blueeyedguys; May 25th, 2014 at 04:45 AM.

That is kind of the approach I took. I looked at what I did with the boys and then what was getting good girl results. If it was the opposite of what I was doing than that is what I did. I stopped exercising, started eating poorly, and drinking a lot
I also happened to quit a very stressful job to become a SAHM at the time DS2 was born which I think helped also.

Re side dishes, you are going to need to think outside the box a bit and sometimes do something like add in a salad or a yogurt or whatever you're low on. When I said I only ate side dishes, I meant that as a basic guideline and not some hard and fast rule that you needed to follow to the letter.
I really REALLY hate the "do the opposite" idea. Sometimes you get boys not BECAUSE of things you did, but in SPITE of them (you were doing things that may have swayed pink, but just also doing stuff that swayed blue more) and so it is silly to do the opposite if the opposite will be more blue friendly than where you started out!!!!!
