Not to be a poo-poo-headed thread-hijacker, but I just read
this article two days ago, and I thought it was pertinent to this conversation. During my pink sway, I thought often of what, if any, implications my pre-pregnancy diet would have on the baby's development. This study examines the effects of preconception diets in rats, so clearly there is question of whether or not this would apply to humans. Epigenetics is a burgeoning area of research, and one that is revelatory for me in some ways (much like String Theory or Quantum Mechanics...makes my brain feel like it's gonna explode a little :worry:) I think we've just scratched the surface of this field of study with the persistent question: "How will our actions affect future generations?"
Sorry, with the boys gone for the day, I've had time to wax all philosophical. :)
