Hope your cat is ok, mocha, xxxxxxxxx
Thanks, everyone. She's an old kitty (16) and has had diabetes for the past 10 years. It was just a major hypoglycemic episode - I found her almost comatose in our basement and her blood sugar was so low it didn't even register on the vet's monitor. The thing is, the episode was brought on by the fact that she's lost her appetite lately and was still getting insulin but not eating to compensate for it. Hopefully the vet can get everything adjusted again, but the loss of appetite may indicate a bigger underlying problem. If they can't do anything for her, I'll know she's lived a long life so I'll be ok (after a bit of crying). I've had her for 15 years - longer than I've known DH!
So last night's food didn't end up so badly after all. I had lots of allowance left for both protein and sodium, and I don't think I went too far over even though I had lots of snacks at my friend's house.
7am: coffee
12pm: rice with yogurt and balsamic, 2 fruit creme cookies, ground cherries
5pm: rice pasta with zucchini, mushrooms and leeks sauteed in butter + creme fraiche and parmesan, 2 digestive biscuits
8:30pm: tortilla chips and salsa + guacamole (I only had maybe 10 chips, and a couple of TBSP each of the dips), 3 mini fruit tarts, 8 tiny peanut butter cups, ryvita with a tiny bit of the cream cheese/red pepper jelly dip my friend made, 1 shortbread cookie
I may have ended up a bit over for sodium, but I don't think it was crazy like it was the past couple of days. I also like to make sure to not only eat but go back for seconds when I'm with my friends since I know those who don't know about the diet think I have an eating disorder.
I'm off to a kid's birthday party with my kids today, and I'm definitely planning to have a piece of cake!
breakfast: nothing
lunch: 1 pizza pitta bread, 3 Mrs Kipling chocolate slices (yum!) with cream + raspberries
tea: 1/2 chicken breast with some veg stir fry with low-sodium chow mein sauce + rice, 1/4 raspberry cheesecake from the shops
supper: going to try and go without seeing as I've eaten a fair bit today
Hi ladies,
The last 2 days I've had exactly the same thing
No breakfast
Lunch and dinner rice with cucumber or courgette, skittles, meringues
Tried to be really good and boring since I think I ov today, I'm hoping I may have lost 1lb in the last 2 days but failing that I've had no nutrients
breakfast: nothing
lunch: 8 cream crackers with a little unsalted butter, 1 apple, a few grapes, 1 babybel
tea: Wispa to help me walk home, leftovers from yesterday (chow mein chicken + veg, with rice)
supper: 2 WW choc slices with cream + strawberries, a few marshmallows
don't actually feel like I've eaten as much today although it looks a lot written down. I haven't been hungry between meals all day or in the morning which makes a change!
Hi!!!!
No breakfast
Lunch 2 pieces of toast with jam, meringue, skittles, popcorn
Snack skittles, chocolate jazzier
Dinner mushroom ravioli, meringues with raspberries, skittles
I am full of sugar!!!!!
What's a chocolate jazzier?!
Lol, chocolate jazzies!! The chocolate sweets with sprinkle bits on top, I love them!! Bought them for boys but couldn't resist!
Mmmm...sounds good, swish!
I don't think I wrote down yesterday's food, so here it is:
7am: coffee
12pm: rice with yogurt, 2 digestive biscuits
3pm: chocolate cupcake, 1 small handful chips (birthday party)
5:30 pm: veggie burger, 2 pieces bocconcini salad, pear, mini raspberry tart
9pm: Sour Patch Kids, mini Haagen Dazs chocolate ice cream bar (sooooo yummy!)
Today:
7am: coffee
12pm: pita with cucumber and sweet potato hummus (I found this at the grocery store - it has 1/3 the sodium of regular hummus and it was very yummy!), 2 fruit creme cookies, grapes
5:30pm: rarebit (low sodium tomato soup, cheddar cheese, 1 egg on WW bread, toasted) I made this for the kids and wasn't going to eat any, but once I figured out the totals I discovered the portions were so small I could have some...but then I had seconds and it pushed my sodium over the edge. At least I put my seconds on my homemade low sodium bread instead of th store bought stuff. I also had orange sorbet and grapes.
9:30: strawberries, chocolate wafer cookies, Mike & Ikes
It's so quiet on here without your daily food, z!!
No breakfast
Lunch rice with cucumber, mint, olive oil, balsamic, little Parmesan.2 meringues, skittles, popcorn, go ahead bar

Thanks swish - you're all doing fab :D
I'm on my second day back on Slimming World, hoping it'll become my new normal after a few weeks like the LE diet did!
it is quiet today...
lunch: pitta + cheddar + cucumber + grapes
tea: Tesco light choices cheese + broccoli pasta
supper: 2 choc slices + cream+ raspberries
or that was the plan, just added it up and it's 878 calories, 30.71g protein, 22.3g fat, 600mg sodium. Ah well, maybe I don't need that much anyway as it feels like enough!
Rainbow, be very careful about not eating enough calories. Maybe eat one more thing even if you're not that hungry. Just a thought since I've had such a nightmare, ignore me if you want!!!!
OK then, I'll have a doughnut ;)
monitoring my weight loss though, I seem to be losing about 1lb a week so not too fast
He, he! Doughnut sounds good, glad you're not losing too much :)
Yay! This thread is working again!
wonder how it got locked...
anyway:
lunch: 6 cream crackers, 1/2 babybel, grapes, 2 doughnuts

Tried to eat a lot today with a lot of calories and fat as weight is creeping down again
The curry sounds yummy, swish! Out of curiosity I tracked my nutrients yesterday, and boy oh boy do I hope I'm really pregnant because that diet is already history! I'm trying to eat a little more moderately today since I don't want to balloon up in the first trimester. I think I'll continue to (loosely) track what I'm eating just to make sure I don't overdo the sodium and fat as I am wont to do. I would like it if I can get back to a lighter weight postpartum - maybe not 109 as I am now (I look too emaciated), but maybe 115-120 instead of 130?
You are really pregnant, mocha!! Hope the boys took the news the cat ok, x
Thanks, swish, but I can't help but worry. I bought a digi to use with FMU tomorrow. I'll be 11dpo, so hopefully far enough along to get a 'pregnant' if I really am....
The boys coped pretty well with the news. The older boys were a little scared of her anyway, and the youngest is too young to understand what happened. All 3 were most concerned about how upset I was.
Sweet boys x
mocha - I waited 5 days between taking my first digi and my second because I saw '1-2 weeks' on the first test and I wanted to see more than that on the second but it still only said 1-2 weeks. I hope you get a big fat PREGNANT in the morning!
On my ics I can now see the faintest shadow of a line - if I didn't already know I have a BFP, I'd probably disregard it as an evap since there's no colour, but they appear within 5 minutes each time. I'm hopeful I'll get that 'pregnant' on my digi tomorrow.
I'd wait with the digi - they're not very sensitive and if the line is still faint on an IC it would most likely be far too low for a digital one. Try a FRER?
yesterday
lunch: Waitrose vegetable ravioli with a tin of chopped tomatoes, some rhubarb crumble + custard
tea: Birds Eye mediterranean rice, apple, 2 choc slices.... then my DH ordered dominos :( so I had a slice of his pizza and 3 cookies as well!
certainly went over on sodium yesterday, but I don't think by too much
Rainbow, if you have m and s near you they do really yummy fresh sauces that are quite low in sodium, I can Thai green curry one last night,it was sooooo nice!!
oh, I've been craving Thai green curry! I shall have to see if I can get some of that. Thank you!
Actually, the digi worked! Yay! Now I feel like I really AM pregnant.
:D congratulations!! so happy for you, hope there is a bit of a pink baby-spree in 8 months time :)
Hello :)
I was wondering about all the sweets listed in everyone's meals. :) I have been eating sweets, but we can have candy bars and chocolate??? WOWZA!!! I have been missing out!
What sweets are you eating???
Thank you!
I'm only eating cake + chocolate because I lose weight too fast without it (and I only had 10lbs to lose before becoming underweight when I started this diet), but from what I've read cake is also OK generally provided you stay within your nutrient limits
today:
lunch: Birds Eye mediterranean rice, chocolate brownie (well, this was 11am, I was out meeting up with friends in a cafe)
tea: leek, mushroom, courgette risotto with parm... followed by 2 WW choc slices with cream + raspberries
Me too, hh, I want to make sure I don't lose any weight so for me it works, plus all the girl mums said they ate chocolate, I try to stick to White chocolate as I read this was better.
No breakfast
Lunch pret avocado and herb wrap, 1/2 carrot cake, White chocolate
Snack 1/2 can full fat coke
Dinner wait rose mushroom ravioli, 2 meringues
I'm a bit over sodium but protein fine! Yummy day!!
Technically chocolate isn't allowed on the diet, but a lot of us decided to add it as an occasional treat when atomic said it really couldn't do much harm. Try to stick with milk chocolate and maybe not every day.
Any sweets are fine as long as you pay close attention to their sodium and protein content. Lots of candy is fine - I ate a lot of Sour Patch Kids and Mike & Ikes. I also ate tons of low fat ice cream and some cookies I found with low sodium content. Lots of us had luck with Weight Watchers products.
Watch out for gelitine too - I stuck to the 'ok for vegetarians' sweets!
breakfast: none
lunch: 1 pitta pizza + some cucumber, 1/2 a Boost bar
tea: philli pasta, 2 WW choc slices with cream + raspberries
I'm feeling so full!
Rainbow, why were you so full???
Yesterday..
No breakfast
Lunch rice with mushroom, cucumber, lemon, olive oil
Snack skittles
Dinner out - big cheat!!! 2 glasses of wine, stuffed mushrooms, pasta with tomato and aubergine, ice cream -yum, yum!!! So nice to eat and and enjoy it with out feeling guilty!
I agree - I'd be starving on as little food as you ate, rainbow!
I'm so happy you had a cheat night, swish! I found as I led up to my BFP I was eating too much for several days in a row - I think it was my body telling me it needed more food for the baby.
