Hi ladies
I am so sorry to have worried you all.
Birth was amazing, but coming home was rough.
Girliecat and Dreamsister I have just seen your piccies and what beautiful babies you have made. Perfect name Girlie, really love it.
So the day of the csection I stood in the car park and told my husband I'm not going in.
That he would come when he was ready and I KNew the scans were wrong.
He begged me, and said what if this is our only chance of having a baby.
I started to think about how we had struggled to get here, and reluctantly made my way into the hospital.
My midwife met us there, and she let me hug on her in the OR.
Husband had to stay outside whilst spinal was administered.
I got to do my hypnobirthing whilst it was happening.
My favourite consultant did the section, and we all laughed and joked.
Then she said are you ready to meet him, lowered the screen and the feeling of love was indescribable. All I could see was white glitter and a big fat baby!
It was like a movie, you know the love scene where they first lock eyes.
He had this worrying high pitched acream, and sounded like an Eagle not a baby at all.
Later we sound out that he had been forceps and something had been damaged on his head and neck.
All the midwives in recovery commented that they had not heard anything like that for a while.
They told us he probably had a headache and to take him to an osteopath.
We stayed in the hospital less than 24 hours, and then took our 8.9lb baby home.
By the way I was wrong, the scan was right.
When they opened me up not a drop of fluid to be seen, the only thing that saved him was the fact that his cord was three times as thick, and wouldn't have got compressed in a month of Sunday's 😂
It's amazing how nature compensated.
After he came home, he fed for hours.
First day he fed for 22 hours. And my left boob is not functional due to tubular shape and some other things.
I pumped that one, and fed from the right.
But it wasn't enough. Like girlies daughter, he lost too much weight and started getting ready this red stuff in his diapers. Of which there were never more than three wet ones a day.
I was starving him 😢
Every day we have had people here to try and fix the problem, one of them finally suggested formula. After half a dozen strangers watched me feed him, said latch was perfect but that he doesn't swallow, all they could say was keep persevering.
The last lady made my husband run and get some ready made formula.
Baby drank that and expressed milk. In front of her.
In one and a half hours he totalled over 200ml, wasn't sick or anything.
He looked so happy after, and she told us. Offer the boob, forget about The damned left one, and express feed and top up with formula if you need to.
It's been two days since. And he was had 9 wet nappies yesterday, and already one this morning !
No more red stuff, and his jaundice is gone.
We had so much bad advice, I called La Leche League and they made me feel like a demon for even considering not breast feeding.
Sure that is not how they meant to come across, but a new mom with a sick baby is a sensitive creature.
Anyway. We are so happy now and absoloutkey in love, he is our perfect prince and looks just like Daddy !
