WAG, oh no, that must have scared the hell out of you!! I would have been the same! DS2 is the same, he doesen't care about anything, always in his own world. He does know the rules, but it's like as if they just don't apply for him. He is not thinking at all and that drives me so crazy. The other day, he just started running when we got out of the hotel. The street there is huge, so many cars and trucks driving by, and he literally only looks just in front of his feet. He doesen't see anything that is one foot away from him. Ugh!
We are at a children's psychologist every other week because of him. But I am not sure if "only" that is going to help. He is so in his own world.

I'm back from a trip away and I was going to try and do a general catch up, but I've just been reading your blog Northern, and sitting here in floods of tears, wishing there was something I could say that would ease even a tiny bit of your heartbreak. Evelyn is beautiful. She has touched all our hearts and we will remember her.

Just had my scan at 17 1/2 weeks and lady said she thinks a girl, there were 3 bright lines on potty shot. She didn't give me a copy of the shot though so I can't post it. Can't quite believe it , I have 2 boys already and never imagined I would ever hear the words Girl!!!

Ya ds1 drive me insane literally... It's sad cause I always feel so mad at him cause it's always one thing after another it never ends... It's straining my mother son relationship with him cause I feel like I can barley stand him sometimes... I expect him to be good and listen and be respectful ... I tell him all the time he takes advantage of his mental health and should thank god for being a normal boy cause his brother will never be able to have normalcy... I feel maybe I'm harder on him because of that

Wag I think maybe we're all harsh on our first borns ;-) as my ds1 now 3 n 4 months I expect him to be really grown up as he was only 15 months when ds2 was born and I couldn't cope with two babies! Now I see 15 month olds (and my own ds2 who's nearly two) and think hmmm I was probably still am hard in him! Oh we'll all evidence suggests first borns have lots of advantages maybe high expectations is good for them!

don't stress as an only child I find the whole treating equally but different hard to get my head around but this is even more true for you where your ds2 has more difficulties to over come , if you were a bad mum you wouldn't be self aware enough to notice! Xx

Thank you all for your messages of kindness. I'm sorry but I can't keep coming back, I'm really struggling and missing my baby girl so much, coming here reminds me of the joys that should have been.

Hi everyone, we made it to Luxembourg on Friday after a long and exhausting plane ride but everything went smoothly. Still quite jet lagged and trying to adjust to everything here with our two little boys. I'm enjoying all the food though that I haven't had in over 4 years. :) I haven't been able to really catch up on here except I read Northern's blog and am so completely heartbroken for her. And what I am feeling is just an infinitesimal fraction of her pain. These things are so unfair. :(

I have to go and catch up on sleep but I do miss being able to come on here more easily and regularly.

I'm having a very hard time thinking of a middle name for Lennon... I want something that's 3-4 letters cause we hyphenate the last names cause I refuse to give mine up cause ds1 isn't dhs s. and there was no legal adoption to give him the same last name and me and DH are not married so I refuse to have my children not have my last name and and have different name than ds1....bot of our last names are 6 letters so it's quite a mouthful lol

I agree about being harder on the first. I expect much more from DD1 than DD2 in terms of behaviour etc and they're only a year apart.

My anatomy scan is in a week and a half and I'm getting nervous. I think Northern has reminded us all that a healthy baby is the most important thing.

Ds1 has middle name jean (French John) and if I did do John people would think that he's def named after John Lennon lmao I like to name my kids after family members but now thatmim on boy number four its a tad difficult altho ds2 middle name is abel just cause I like it Ezra's middle name is lee... I suggested using my dads name (Frankie) but DH got jealous and it is too long but his dads name is Antonio and I dont want a Spanish name... Hes Portuguese... In the end it will be what I want he has no naming power... I kind of like Avery but people say its a girl name lil

Wag-I agree, I also like Max. I do like Avery but I do know a girl with this name. No rule to say it can't be used for a boy though! We have all our kids middle names from family members. My DD middle name is Jane after my middle name, DS1 has both grandfathers first names as his middle names, and DS2 hash DH first name as his middle name. If we have a girl this time her middle name will be Lyn after both grandmothers. If its another boy it will be Eric after my great grandfather who died in wwII

Wag max is cute? Our boys have family middle names so never given it that much thought ;-)

Wanting i know what you mean about names, me and DH had a nightmare with names as we never agree. Both boys have 2 middle names each and all 4 of the middle names are after family members. Having only a small family we ran out of names/family members if this one is a boy but we have gone with Luca which is after me :D (Lucy)

Ugh I think I gained 5 lbs just over the weekend! I couldn't move much because of the sprained foot, and my appetite was out of control. I had pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner for 3 days and lots of candy and cereal! OMG I had no self control! Still don't look pregnant, just like I've been eating pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner lol. I need this baby belly to pop out asap! Im tired of feeling fat, i want to feel pregnant.

Omg I'm sitting here at 9 am wanting to have baked potatoes lmao I don't know how long I can hold off ;) so far I've had half a mini watermelon, a granola bar, glass of choc milk.... I really want some potatoes mmmm the sad thing is I will make 3 or 4 and eat them all at once with butter and a mountain of shredded cheese... I'm very happy yo be able to enjoy eating again that's for sure... Morning sickness kicked my ass :(

How much has everyone gained so far... I've gained 11 and 7 of those were in the last 30 days lmao

I've gained more than I want to admit!! But am pretty much the same weight I was for my last 3 pregnancies at this time. Which means I've put on the most with this pregnancy because my starting out weight was about 8kgs less than the other times!! Hehe oops!
Well I'm 21 wks and only feeling the odd flutter still..... Getting frustrated!! I really want to feel this baby move its so comforting and puts a smile on my face. I know my placenta is anterior, infact I've only had one pregnancy with the placenta posterior (and felt movements from 15wks) so anyway, I just wish the kicks would get a bit stronger by now... I was hoping once I felt baby move more it would make me feel more connected and not so concerned about finding out the gender!!! Hmmmmm....

O that would suck :( I can see my stomach move when he kicks and rolls and he has been getting the hiccups too
My baby is the most active one I've had by far... I have never been woken up from fetal movement and the past few days he's been waking me a bit.... I don't mind :) its comforting....

He sometimes faces my back and I can feel him kick towards the back


Btw I also like my for a middle name possibility I will ask DH ... I've already asked him about pax, and Kai and kale

WAG- Our kids all have family middle names as well. I have gained around 9 lbs, I'm not certain because I have one of those old school scales that use a needle and only really tell you the exact weight every 20 lbs. We need a digital one so I can be certain. Ugh ladies, I might need some help. After getting all the new carpet and rugs for our living and dining room, I have realized that I absolutely HATE the paint color that I have in my front room. It was supposed to be a light blueish grey but it ended up very baby blue. I think I want to paint it a very light cream neutral color because we will be selling it in two years. This is an old pic just after I put the floors in, but since then I have put a little furniture in it. but DS3 is having a melt down, so I'll have to take a pic of the current state of the room at nap time.

Ok here are the more current pics, but the blue is more blue than it appears. I think if it was actually the color it appears in the pics I might think of keeping it. (don't mind the dresser with missing hardware will be fixed. Atm everything is a work in progress)

Thorz I feel your pain with the paint colors. I repainted our family room and dining room after I painted them because I hated the color once it was on the wall. I think you should stick blue however, if it is more like the blue in the first picture then it is a little to bright. I think the blue should come close to matching the blue you have in the couch. Blue is a hard color to pick out. It almost needs to look grey on the paint sample. The blue I painted DS2 room is a very muted blue/grey and on the paint chip you can only tell it is blue when you compare it to grey. On the wall though there is no mistaking it is blue. Right now I am in the process of picking a color for the baby's room and it is difficult. I am going purple however, I want it to be a very muted grey/purple which is hard to find. You never really know what they color is going to look like in your home until you put it on your walls. I have a love hate relationship with painting:)

LOL I actually really like the color of it in the pics but depending on the time of day and the amount of natural light in the house, it can look really blue. I have the perfect grey in the bedrooms, but I don't want to do the same color in the living area too. I am terrible at picking paint colors. The color in our dining room is awful too. It was supposed to be a light cream/beige color but it is really pink in some lights. If I repaint the living and dining area, I want to be CERTAIN it is the right color, because I am so tired of painting!! This is the color I am thinking of painting it to lighten up my house because I don't have a lot of natural light in my house and it gets dark in the evening.Attachment 10951

I'm not very brave with color plus since we are moving in 2 years we will have to resale and bold colors don't really work for that....Ugh my whole house still needs work and we have been here for a year and a half already, I don't feel like I have even one room complete!!

We built our house 3 years ago and the walls are all white still except I exparementied in my main floor bathroom with red lol....I'm not a painter that's one thing I have learned lol! And DH is to lazy to fix it up... I've tried... There Ted all over the roof :s... I want to get the house painted but I find it hrd with the open concept cause I just can't do one room at a time cause they all flow together so mainly I guess I would need to pic two similar colors and do contrasting...

I don't weight myself when I'm preggie but I'm massive and can't stop eating ;-( think it partly dealing with loose of lill twin and all the stress we've had - I ten to either not eat all when stressed or eat a lot as I know I have to eat I think it's getting extreme ;-(

Stop press I may have good news! 9 week bloods positive for past infection but not current! Going to another lab for confirmation results on thurs fx but looks like we've finally got a break! Can't quiet believe it!

I like greys that's all I can set my mind on...I also want to do a backsplash in the kitchen! DH promised that it would get done right away... Three years later..... We also have bamboo hard wood that was supposed to be put in and its been sitting in the garage for three years,.... It's so frusterating

WAG thats gotta be rough, I start projects all the time and then don't finish them. It drives my husband nuts. But If i sat around waiting for him to do them, they would never get done, so I always start them and then get to a point where I need his help and then stop, and then we have a half finished projects. Like the baseboards in our house, I installed the base boards but got to a couple spots where i couldn't get the cuts right, so now we have half finished baseboards in the kitchen and bathroom. LOL one day we will complete it all

Lol only if he could lol... God I got him to change a light bulb the one day omg I would have proffered to rip my hair out! He comes from a Portuguese family he's the youngst and was babied beyond belief and now I'm the one paying for his mothers mothering! I'm quite handy aside from painting cause I grew up with avery handy father who can fix and complete anything it seemed like... Its a matter of making him buy what I need... Cause the other side of coming from that Portuguese family made hi. Extremely cheap! Where as I would see money burn holes in her pocket buying prada purses lol... We are very different from very different upbringings and it def makes us clash ALOT lol...

Well, I usually find that you end up balancing each other out. I am very compulsive and when I get an Idea I want to do it NOW! DH wants to weigh everything out and plan it all out. I am very frugal though and DH likes to spend money on nice stuff, when I prefer to buy it second hand. I win on that one, so almost everything is bought off of craigslist in our house, or even free off the side of the road lol. But I LOVE to fix things up or I wouldn't get so much used stuff, because it never looks good when I first get it. DH HATES PAINTING and doesn't like me to paint, because he knows I am never happy with the color and always want to change it. So I always paint while he is at work. Because I know he will like it once it is done. We tend to balance each other out though.

Lol maybe I have never painted my house because I swear to god growing up with my mother our house lost square footage from how often she changed the colors... Lol

I have become a lot more frugal in the past few years lol! When I only had ds1 I would get everythg from pottery barn and he was always very well dressed I was crazy I would spend 40 bucks on a sleeper! Never would I do that now! I havnt even stepped foot I. A pottery barn in many years... For this baby I bought a swing that was used and very dirty but its the same one I paid 200 for Ezra but I sold it thinking he was my last baby... Well I got this one for 30 bucks! Lol I will be able to sell it for 80! I just had to spray it wit stain spray... I will also buy pants from the gently used store for ds1 cause he is so rough on clothes ... So I have learned a lot

Since your so handy thorz I was wondering cause my cats when they were kittens destroyed our leather kitchen chairs and ottamon :( is that even able to be re done?

wow thorz your house is so lovely. I love the colours but then i love any colour on walls as we have been in rented houses for the past 5 years and EVERY house and EVERY wall has been magnolia. I would give anything to paint just 1 wall and add a splash of colour to some rooms but we are not allowed to paint. Hows your hip and foot doing?
