October 2013 babies!

DS1 is convinced this is a girl. Every night when we say grace at dinner he says "Dear god please give us a baby girl." lol And when I showed him my sono pics, he said "Awe mom shes so pretty! Shes going to have really pretty hair too!" lol I just say buddy it could be a boy too you know. And he repllys No mom its a girl. He he I hope his child intuition is right! ANd DS2 doesnt reallly care too much, he just has a whatever attitude lol Im not sure if he will be sad if its not a girl, but if he is, it willl be something he will have to accept just like mommy. I think it will be ok though if its a boy.

Im just so worry she will feel jelous and sad when the new baby arrives. How did you do when your first child had a sibling?

When I had Ds2 I was worried about the same thing. I even cried on my way to the hospital because I felt bad leaving DS1 at home to have another baby lol HORMONES! But everything fell into place. I just made sure I involved DS1 as much as possible. I woullld have him do little tasks and tell him what a good big brother he was and a helper. Id llet him hold him "Supervised! lol" I think more involved you get them the more they connect and love them too.

DS1 was 20 months old when DS2 was born. He did an excited little shudder and found him interesting for a few minutes then went to play. He was fine though and enjoyed doing things with him and liked to help. He never had any jealousy issues.
He was again fine when DS3 was born, at this point he was 4years 1 month. He was so excited and kept moaning "when are we going to get our baby, so and so has got their baby already" LOL
DS2 was 2 years 4 months the main thing he was concerned about was whether or not my belly was now empty and I could carry him again. I had had a few bleeding issues and hadn't been able to carry him from 8 weeks.
He was also a little nervous when the baby cried, he didn't know what to do.
They are both very excited about the baby now, its DS3 I'm most worried about. Although he likes the idea of a baby, he will have been the baby for 3years and 7 months and he is a complete Mummys boy, where as DS1 had be fine with either of us and DS2 was a Daddys boy. So I'm worried about him not liking the fact that it has to be Mummy doing things for the baby and getting jealous.

So I made an appt with the school on monday. The last day they are doing it is tues., and not again for 12 weeks!!! So I will be a day or two shy of 14 weeks. Well its better than nothing!

Yes I also think that the best is to include the child in their new sibling. My dd will be 3 years old when this one is born. Im so worry about her feelings but on other hand its something good for her to have a brother or sister.

Hey everyone, I don't get online as much as I wish I could- all my spare time seems to be consumed with sleeping still.

I'm so sorry to hear some of you have bits of depression. The hormones don't help. I know several people who had pregnancy depression, and I will say I definitely have my good and bad days, but I am much more mood and apathetic than I ever was before, so I know I have a good touch of it too. And funny thing is I should be over the moon every day with having a natural pregnancy after infertility, but you just can't do much about those hormones. I would definitely try to talk to a counselor if you can, and I will be pulling for you all!

I can't say how much I wish everyone here would get their dg. You all just keep your chins up because as someone posted about the nubs being identical, that is exactly right, so don't get too worked up about it just yet!

Today was just as bad as yesterday for me. My husband wants me to get off the Internet and try to just be happy. I might need to try it as the last 36 hours have had me glued to google obsessing. I can't stop crying and am just a mess. I feel like I should be allowed time to mourn this likely potential loss of a daughter but my mom and husband seem to think I already need to stop. On one hand I think it is comforting to come here...truly need understanding and here I can find it. But I do also think it tends to make it harder for me. Not sure what to do.

My next worry is if I should book a 16 elective gender scan or just hold out till my 20 week appt with my doctor. Part of me feels like it would be a waste of $125 just to see that crazy giant penis again.

My boys know I am sad they just aren't sure why. I told my 4 year old this might not be a girl, as he has such high hopes, and he was visibly disappointed. But them quickly said a boy would be "good too." If only I could feel that way. My 2.5 y/o son, on the other hand, almost starting crying and got really upset.

Im sorry Ltd! I know how badly you want a girl, I do as well. Baby bllues are the worst when your pregnant. I think if we have boys we will cope and deal with it and love them like the other monkies we so dearly love! THat want for a girl is undescribable and no one can understand until they have mulitple same genders. So I think you should cope with it however you need to. HAng in there it will get better!!! :)

Awwww Lld, I'm so sorry you're going through all this. I definitely know how you're feeling, and I'm sure many others on here do too. I too have felt like it's mourning the loss of a little one. I actually said that to a friend last week! I debated over paying for an early scan, but in the end I decided I just didn't want to spend the money and hear "boy." I'm just waiting until 20+ weeks. I think you'll probably feel better if you just wait and don't spend that money. Just remember we're all here for you!

Aww LTD I am sorry you feel this way. I do have my good and bad days too. But I do kind of agree with DH. sitting on the computer obsessing is not good. Also nubs are not 100%, if they were then there would be places that would do gender scans at 12-13 weeks and not make you wait until 16 weeks. I wouldn't lose hope just yet.
