A BIG part of why the LE Diet seems to work for people is that you have the leeway to not feel terribly deprived, since there are no forbidden foods you can have what you want when you want it. While technically, the coffee with milk and sugar is a cheat, it doesn't amount to much (scientific explanation - becuase your blood sugar goes up naturally in the morning anyway the coffee with milk and sugar just kinda gets absorbed into that anyway and may even help lower your blood sugar later on in the day) and it was a cheat that I had every day and still got my DD.
WHat you may want to try is also putting in a little cinnamon (just a pinch, it really takes very little) in the coffee, will help keep blood sugar lower. :)
