It can definitely delay O, or prevent it altogether. I've never heard of it bringing O forward, no herbs do that reliably, unfortunately.
Thanks maidentomother. I wondered as this month I got a positive Opk earlier than normal after drinking a lot of the tea x
What CD did you get the positive and when do you usually get them? Are you temping? Do you have other signs of O approaching like fertile CM etc? You can get a positive but not actually O. What brand OPKs are you using?
I normally always get a positive on day 20 with suspected ovulation on day 21 of my 34 day cycle. I got a positive this time on day 18, I know it's only two days difference but it was just unusual for me. I'm not temping unfortunately and had a mix of creamy and ewcm. Is it possible to ovulate 3 days after a pos Opk? Im pretty sure I normally ovulate the day after first positive.
I'm in the UK and I use Boots own brand X
Ahh that's not much earlier. It could be the diet, some do O earlier on it. If you have any PCOS tendencies at all, pepp tea could maybe bring O a tad forward, in conjunction with diet. Boots is a good brand, and if you usually O the day after your first positive you probably will this month too. Though it is possible to O 3+ days after your first positive.
Thanks maiden, I wasn't on the diet. Just my normal diet and only added in peppermint tea, magnesium calcium and cranberry here and there. I don't have pcos. Don't know what could have made me ovulate early then really, if not the pep tea xx
It's completely normal for O day to fluctuate from month to month
If the peppermint tea had delayed ov, it would actually have done me a favour after exploring this site.
I had two attempts, not one :( but if ov was delayed it would have made my first attempt 6 days from ovulation instead of having both attempts closer. My two attempts were with one day BD, next day not, then next day BD again which was the day before positive Opk and from what I can gather this is boy frequency xx
So you BDed on CDs 13, 15, and 17? I'm a little confused. When exactly did you start and stop BDing for the cycle?
Hi Maiden,
I BD on CD15 and CD17. I got a positive Opk on CD18 but did not BD that day or any day thereafter until ovulation was well and truly over xx
I normally ovulate on day 21 but judging by Opk I think I ovulated on CD19 this time xx
While technically 2 attempts, the sperm from CD15 were likely mostly gone by the time you Oed so closer to 1 attempt really!
It can delay O or bring it forward depending on circumstance. Thus I recommend using it from AF-CD 14 or positive OPK whichever comes first, and if you do not O at that point, stay off it, don't restart till O occurs.
Not reliably, but actually in many women who have PCO-tendencies, these herbs that for SOME people delay O, can actually move it forward (same with Vitex and saw palmetto.) So if a gal was normally Oing late because of PCO-tendencies it's a possibility (albeit not reliably so) that it can move their O day up significantly.
If you are not on a sway diet I strongly recommend against just taking cal/mag/cranberry because in that case you're only adding nutrients.
If you believe in cal-mag that's at your discretion but I really do not recommend taking it without doing some form of diet. When I was on the InGender site, there were many swayers who did that and virtually all go boys. You don't need to do their very strict type of diet, but I do recommend doing some kind of diet or dropping the supps.
You can have some tendencies to develop PCO without actually having the syndrome.
Thanks Atomic! Damn... I didn't stop drinking it at positive Opk. I drank it for quite a long time afterwards.. And I'm pretty sure now that the tea is what bought my ovulation forward :/ x
pep tea brought my ov forward.
i ov on day 11 last month after drinking it from AF - O
tested twice and both time brought ov foward :-)
Does peppermint tea raise estrogen? This is bad for pink isn't it X
Thank you atomic. Can I just say what an absolutely lovely and amazing selfless person you are. You go out of your way to answer each and every one of us with such detail.
I love this site, everybody here is so friendly and helpful. Unlike another swaying site I can think of x
Thank you so much! I need to hear that some days and this was one of those days LOL. :) Appreciate it.
Ah sorry atomic I forgot to point out that our second attempt was the day before positive Opk, not on it. So I'm guessing that attempt would have had time to capacitate and join the potential 3 days before attempt. Oops :(.
Depending on when I ovulated I either had a 4 day and 2 attempt before O, or a 3 and 1 day before O. It's the 3 and 1 I'm concerned about x
Pink butterfly and princessCharlotte, are either of you underweight or quite thin?
And yes that is 2 attempts.
Better track in what way?
Pinkbutterfly, I'd do anything to O earlier but doubt that pepp tea would help me, but I might try it since it had that effect for you and you are also underweight with similar background from the sounds of it. How much exactly were you drinking?
Hi Maiden,
I was only drinking 2 cups most days, sometimes 3 but I was leaving it to stew for ages and ages so each cup was very strong. Have no idea if it even was the PT that bought my O forward but I do remember getting hot flashes when I was drinking it so I do think it was definitely doing something to my hormones so may well be what did it x
I think that no matter what it is done now so I am going to warn you off worrying on this any more. The dredging stuff up and going over it and over it a million times trying to come up with the "perfect scenario" probably sways blue more than anything having to do with number of attempts. :)
