Hi ladies,
I'm TTC a girl, one of the things I've added into my sway is peppermint tea. I just wondered, is peppermint tea known to interfere with ovulation? Bring it forward in anyway? X

Peppermint tea and ovulation

It can definitely delay O, or prevent it altogether. I've never heard of it bringing O forward, no herbs do that reliably, unfortunately.

My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

What CD did you get the positive and when do you usually get them? Are you temping? Do you have other signs of O approaching like fertile CM etc? You can get a positive but not actually O. What brand OPKs are you using?

I normally always get a positive on day 20 with suspected ovulation on day 21 of my 34 day cycle. I got a positive this time on day 18, I know it's only two days difference but it was just unusual for me. I'm not temping unfortunately and had a mix of creamy and ewcm. Is it possible to ovulate 3 days after a pos Opk? Im pretty sure I normally ovulate the day after first positive.
I'm in the UK and I use Boots own brand X

Ahh that's not much earlier. It could be the diet, some do O earlier on it. If you have any PCOS tendencies at all, pepp tea could maybe bring O a tad forward, in conjunction with diet. Boots is a good brand, and if you usually O the day after your first positive you probably will this month too. Though it is possible to O 3+ days after your first positive.

Thanks maiden, I wasn't on the diet. Just my normal diet and only added in peppermint tea, magnesium calcium and cranberry here and there. I don't have pcos. Don't know what could have made me ovulate early then really, if not the pep tea xx

If the peppermint tea had delayed ov, it would actually have done me a favour after exploring this site.
I had two attempts, not onebut if ov was delayed it would have made my first attempt 6 days from ovulation instead of having both attempts closer. My two attempts were with one day BD, next day not, then next day BD again which was the day before positive Opk and from what I can gather this is boy frequency xx

So you BDed on CDs 13, 15, and 17? I'm a little confused. When exactly did you start and stop BDing for the cycle?
