boy moms and dads and caffeine intake

ive been looking around at my friends and notice the ones with boys...their dh's dont drink any sort of caffeine on a regular basis. my dh on the other hand has been steadily drinking coffee and soda since college. he is in his mid 30s now. im already knocked up..and he was on all sorts of supplements to repair sperm/improve count. he SORT of decreased his caffeine intake but not much.

just wanted to see if there are any "all-boy" or "some-boys" families out there where DH was a caffeine-aholic?

Hmmmmm my oh doesn't drink it at all,we have 2ds??

I wouldn't say that he is a caffeine-aholic but he does have a latte everyday, likes his green tea and likes his "Mother" which is a drink like Red Bull that has high doses of caffeine in it on the weekends if he is tired. He doesn't really drink any soft drinks only if I buy coke zero for myself, then he will go and help himself but wouldn't intentionally go out and buy it. We have 2 DS's. My DH drinks coffee daily, and I had him switch to decaf for the sway but he still had some regular a couple times a week. I think he was drinking coffee when we conceived our DS? I don't remember.

The guy DH works with chews tobacco, drinks a HUGE thermos of coffee a day, and smokes "special cigarettes" and has 2 boys. My BIL drinks coffee and iced tea and has 2 boys. I know a family with BBGB where the dad drinks a ton of coffee and smokes. And I know a guy who owns a coffee shop (don't know if he drinks the stuff, but he must!) who has BGBB. If I think of more, I will let you know.

My husband didn't with my first 2 boys but with my last 3 children (1 girl and 2 boys) he was drinking energy drinks.

DH drink lots of coffee and caffeine and we have 3 boys....

My DH doesn't drink coffee at all (can't stand the stuff) and only has the occassional cup of tea like once in a blue moon and we have a gorgeous DS.

my DH drinks a LOT of cola, we have one DS (but I did have a very blue lifestyle at the time too)

My DH drinks tea on a daily basis and we have 3 boys! He hates coffee and coca cola so has never drank any of those. Hopefully for our sway he can reduce the ammount of tea he drinks x

Always exceptions but I think that low/moderate caffeine tends to = more boys while very high caff intake = more girls.

thats promising! i tried to get dh to switch to decaf but he complainiend aboiut how it doesnt taste the same..wahhh wahh.

everything is going as good as it should be. had my 1st appt finally. some of the same discrepancies in my bloodwork as with all my pregnancies...so far so good. i plan to get gender screen at 20 weeks which is in march!@ that is a LOONG time! what bout you hobbers? WHENS THE next aattempt?

My DH tried to tell me that too, because he didn't like the first brand of decaf I got him, but he liked the Dunkin' Donuts kind just fine. Hey, how is the weight gain so far? I am curious about how that will work once I get pg... I have gotten so fat from all this eating, I wonder if I will lose once I stop eating so much? What has happened with you?

Just finished up this month's attempt. Not happy with the way some of it happened, because I may have O'ed early, but I don't know... I made a post about it, if you want to look.

I always thought caffeine swayed boy. Me and my hubby love diet coke. I thought for sure we would have to switch to caffeine free when we start swaying.

I completely agree with Atomic!! I know many couples, that DH is smoker and heavy coffee or black tea drinker, has more girls!! I mean like smoking a pack cigs, with 4-5 cups coffee or a whole thermose of black tea!! they all have girls!! and want boys so badly! lol

My DH on the other hand, does not smoke or drink..he's pretty healthy too..i guess that's why we have 2 boys?!...I started drinking Sprite O...because of the aspartame..but I was hearing from alot of ladies that their DH started to load up on Diet coke before their attempt, TTC a girl! what do you ladies think?

That's the IG story, but the fact is that caffeine does not block calcium absorption(unless you drink like a fatal amoutn of it for months/years) and we don't even know for sure if calcium sways pink.

I think Diet Coke is fine for TTC a girl. Just be sure that he doesn't drink any caff 1-2 hours before the attempt because it ~may~ make sperm perkier and swim faster so more make it to the egg.

My DH hates coffee and coke, so he doesn't get any caffeine into his system.
We have 5 ds's! I love coffee and diet coke by the way!!

Neither DH nor I had any sort of close to regular or even weekly caffeine intake when I conceived two boys.

for me it was good and news and bad news. the bad news is i didnt LOSE any weight and the good news is that i didnt gain any either. pretty much stayed the same. but close to around 7 weeks is when the MS started and i had to start eating salty carbs which doesnt do my body good. im giving up and ill lose weight after the baby...bt i also dont want to gain too much and get gestational diab...?good luck this cycyle! ill look for your post

so far to me it looks like caffeine=girls and non = boys..oh well..!

Myself and my dh dont drink tea r coffee and we hav 2 ds's. My DH father and mother drink tea and coffee and smoke like troopers and they hav 3 ds's. My mother and father drink tea and coffee alot and they had 2 ds's den had 2 dd's and didnt change a single ting :D
