Why does diet help a possible "girl egg" implant?

    Hi girls!
I have been following the recommendation on dieting, not snacking and not having breakfast in the 2WW (but being a bit looser on amounts to not loose too much weight but just keep steady).
Can anyone (Atomic?) explain why continuing the diet the first week of the 2WW would help a "girl egg" implant once the fertilization has taken place...?
Thanks - I am really curious to know

High blood sugar levels are bad for any egg to implant. The diet gives the best chance to boy and girl eggs but girls in particular draw up less sugar. Back me up here ladies it sounds a bit GCSE biology when I describe it!

yes pretty close - girl eggs thrive better in a low glucose environment so will be more easily able to reach the level of maturation that is required before they can implant, whereas boy ones will struggle to develop more so are less likely to implant
bear in mind 75% of fertilised eggs will fail to implant each cycle, so you're nudging the boys into that 75% rather than anything else

XX fertilized eggs are really good at sucking up glucose from the environment surrounding them and that's how little fertilized eggs get their energy to continue dividing, until they implant in your uterus. XX develop a little more slowly than XY do but they can do so in a lower glucose environment. We believe that XX can actually suck up TOO much glucose if you have high blood sugar, and it makes them less healthy.

On the other hand, XY are not as good at sucking up glucose and they also develop more quickly, meaning they need more glucose available all the time. So blue swayers need to keep their blood sugar stable - we don't totally know if higher blood sugar = more glucose in CM but that is the theory we are operating under until we know more.

This is the only aspect of gender swaying that is 100% proven to happen and scientists have seen it in a lab and can tell XX and XY apart based solely on the amount of glucose they suck up.

I think that some mechanism comes into play BEFORE conception that makes you more likely to conceive boys or girls - I do not think that this is a question of weeding out boys, it's a question of maximizing odds of success for girls. Makes no sense to me to do all this work to try and conceive a girl without then maximizing the environment for them, plus, I believe that the body has some method whereby it takes note of what gender has the best shot of survival and then conceives that gender.

This makes me wonder if I could have possibly conceived at least 1 girl all those months of trying with all my boys, and they simply couldn't survive in my high glucose environment. Makes me sad! But, I'm pretty sure my glucose was low during this 2ww, so gives me hope it's a pink bean!

    Thanks for all your answers!
Now I understand the recommendation for the 2WW.
I am having a homemade burger with chicken meat and lettuce, cucumber, tomato and a tiny bit of ketchup and onions tonight.
I have not had lunch till noon for weeks and this is my first cheat for almost a month. Weeee

Healthy babies of either gender can survive a wide variety of environments, this is just about maximizing the odds of implantation. We AREN'T weeding out our boys and we AREN'T harming our girls if we cheated in the 2WW, we're just trying to give our girls a leg up on the competition.

Remember, all around the world people are conceiving boys and girls doing none of this stuff. Eating what they want when they want. We have people getting boy opposites on LE Diet and girl opposites on HE Diet. Please do not worry that you harmed potential daughters.

Totally hear you on this. I doubt many (if any) girls were conceived, considering how blue-friendly my lifestyle was, but if there were any, I know that my high-glucose environment couldn't have helped. I can look at it this way: if I had done anything differently, I wouldn't have my 3 sweet little men!
