I just got a BFN and I have to say that I am kind of glad since I definitely did not do well on the diet in August. I am going to give it 100% next month, and need some advice. I am planning to stay away from the big no no's and restrict my fat and calories, but I need a number to strive towards otherwise I am not going to be able to stick to it (which is what happened in August.) When I am on a diet, I usually restrict myself to somewhere between 1200 and 1500 calories per day. Does that sound good for the girl diet? Should I aim for closer to 1200? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've been aiming for 1000 - 1200 calories as weight loss is important along side the actual foods we should/shouldn't be eating. I'm sure Atomic will give better insight than lil' ol' me!

Hi,
I think the amount you suggested is good but protein is also really important, try not to exceed 40g of protein, if you do this the calories are easy to keep within the limits anyway. Any weight loss is good and if you can get to your lowest adult weight/lowest conceiving weight then even better! GL!

Hi and welcome!!
You can go up to 1500-1800 calories, unless you're very short or already don't eat much to begin with. Remember, you may have to be on this diet for several months, so cutting back too far may negatively affect your fertility. 1200 calories is really not enough to be able to function for most of us.
The Low Everything diet is available to Dream Members in the Dream Members section.
The "official" goal numbers are, 1500-1800 cals, 40-50 g protein, 20-30% calories from fat (if you have a lot of weight to lose, you'll want to eat less fat) which averages out to between 25-60 g of fat depending on how much you're eating, sodium - 700-1000 mg.!!!
