Hi. I am new to the TTC arena. We have only been trying for one month and are desperately hoping that our first baby will be a girl.
(Side story: The first time DH told me he loved me was the night his grandmother died. We then discovered that my beloved maternal grandmother had the same first and middle name as his. We vowed then that we would name our first daughter after the two of them. It's just a really.. special thing for us, and it's almost like we've never even considered that we might have a boy first.)
My stats: I'm 29, I don't smoke, rarely drink. I have well managed Hypothyroidism and am on Weight Watchers. I've lost almost 40 pounds since starting, and I'm hoping to keep up the healthy habits. As an aside, I'm allergic to seafood, so I can't do that part of the Pink diet.
I take two Tums Ultra Calcium a day, Magnesium, Prenatals, Cranberry.
I drink a lot of coffee and I use Splenda exclusively, and sugar free syrups/creamers only. I go out of my way to get extra calcium in my diet - string cheese, fat free milk, low fat yogurt. Red meat is limited. I never eat breakfast beyond a cup of coffee and once in a blue moon, a piece of fruit.
I eat a lot of vegetables as well - I'm big on broccoli, spinach, kale. I try to slip greens into smoothies. I try not to add salt to anything.
I track my cycle and use the Kindara app, and Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I also have a free gender selection e-book which describes all the Shettles and O+12 and the like.
We are planning on doing the 2-4 days pre ovulation, and 12 hours post ovulation, but I don't intend to do anything to prevent pregnancy any other time of the month. I wouldn't be devastated with a boy the first time, but I'm hoping beyond hope we can get a little girl first. Meditation and prayer are big for me as well.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? I'm hesitant to try any douches because I've never really heard a ton of good stories.
I'm looking forward to making new friends along the journey. Lots of love and luck to all of you!

Sounds like an old school IG type diet. You have to watch all those supplements you are taking because they can sway blue.
We have a Personalized Swaying and Coaching service. You can sign up and fill out a questionnaire and we develop a comprehensive plan(more than diet and includes your DH) and you get access to a coach in your own private forum. Here is a link to our plans-

We sway very differently here - many of the things you're doing we believe sway boy, and timing doesn't sway and can inhibit conception. I would immediately drop ALL supplements and just take 800mcg folic acid. Read up on the LE diet, limit dairy, and avoid smoothies - all those nutrients sway blue. I suggest you go completely vegetarian as well. 60+ min or nonstop cardio exercise daily is another strong pink sway tactic.
The diet + exercise are best done for 3 months before you start TTC. Plus you need to get all those vitamins/supplements out of your system.
Good luck and welcome! I am swaying pink for my first also.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

This is all so overwhelming. I really don't know what to do now...

The GD girl sway is actually pretty easy. Just diet, folic acid, optional exercise, and one attempt at positive OPK. No timing, no douching, no ph checking, no supps other than FA. Learning the diet is the only complicated part, but you can read a few essays about it here or just buy the meal plan if you feel overwhelmed.

Well, it's an old-school type sway and we don't do a lot of that any more. In my signature below is a link to the Complete Index which has tons of essays on lots of different topics.
I am going to stick to the things that I think are super important that you change. I would change a LOT about your sway, but I'll just focus on the biggies.
weight loss, that helps any pink sway.
I'd drop prenatals or reduce to 3x a week.
Please take care not to go overboard with the fake sugars, they probably do nothing and it's not the best move for health to go overboard.
Shettles and O+12 do not work. But what does work is one attempt. So it is a really bad idea to do two attempts in your fertile window. YOu undermine your success for pink in an attempt to include timing that has been totally debunked.

The IG Diet is that superstrict diet based on the French Gender Diet (very similar to what you're eating) that is reported as fact by other sway sites but has never been proven and is, in fact, biologically impossible. here is the short link to our diet http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...l-version.html
I know the gut instinct is to look for the quick and easy fix. Timing, calcium, pH, it all sounds so very easy but the trouble is, it just doesn't WORK. We just want you to be in with a good attempt based on the newest and best research instead of these 40-50 year old warmed over nonsense that has been debunked. But the prob. is that the real science can't be explained in a couple short soundbites, it takes time to understand it.
If you want to take the calcium, then that's ok. The prenatals are WAY more blue than just calcium. But just know going in that there are many of us who don't believe the calcium works and got our girls without it after getting boy(s) while taking it.!!!
