This is the first month I've started using Vitex. I know people use it differently, but with PCOS would you all recommend taking it 2w on 2w off...or just take it straight for a couple of months before my sway?
My doctor wants me to try to ttc on my own for 6 months before getting Clomid. I'm guessing this is standard? (I'm 28 and though I have irregular cycles, I had no issues ttc with my son.)

Vitex Question

I think you should take it all cycle long until the cycle you start TTC, personally, then just do AF to CD14 .
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Yes, it's normal for doctors to make you wait 6 months before giving Clomid.
2w on, rest of cycle off has gotten ok results and has not messed up ovulation that bad for most people. With PCOS it may actually make your cycles better. Taking it for 1-2 months all month may be a stronger pink sway but has huge potential to make your cycles go away totally and you then end up not ovulating, not getting AF, and having to have your doctor give you Provera or similar to bring on AF. In your unique situation, it may actually behoove you to take it because you have a supportive doctor and it can possibly help your pink sway.!!!
