    Embarrassed Non-diet pink sway: possible/worthwhile?

What would a non-diet pink sway look like?

Just fyi, I'm not really sold on the idea of another child so as much as I would cherish a healthy daughter I may very well decide not to TTC. I'm 40 and he's almost 40 so we're oldsters and there are lots of reasons not to do it BUT when I mentioned it my husband was really excited by the study that said runners have more girls. He's currently doing six miles a day just for recreation.

I am a former binge-eating sufferer who does not do well with any kind of restriction so I've never felt swaying with a LE diet was right for me. It's taken me a long time to figure out how to just eat normally and although I believe it is the most effective way to sway I just can't tinker with diet too much.

Putting on the pressure to get skinny has always been counterproductive for me. I was so thin and had so much more free time for exercise back when I conceived my sons. I'm just not going to get thinner than that at this point in my life. I already do an hour of cardio every day and don't eat red meat so at least I have that going for me but eating normally would just have to be good enough in my case.

What do you guys think? Is a non-diet sway worthwhile statistically?

I'd say you definitely still have a chance to do a good sway even without diet! Especially if you already eat pretty healthily. Remember even with no sway at all you have around a 50/50 shot each time :-)

You can skip the diet part but still do one attempt in fertile window, exercise, alcohol and caffeine daily, fiber, no supplements besides folate/folic acid, and olive leaf extract for DH. If you do dairy can you switch to lowfat dairy instead of full fat? Do you normally eat breakfast? I think you'd have a good chance especially since you already avoid red meat, exercise daily, and DH runs! My best friend is pregnant with a girl after two boys. She started off swaying, but pretty much gave it up completely after 3 miscarriages in a row. She's currently 33 weeks!

I think if you did at least an hour cardio daily (more would be even better IMO) and just went vegan and low fat (not counting just choosing lower fat foods), plus DH running long distance, and fibre plus one attrmpt, you'd have a great shot.

If even going low fat would be bad, just go vegan.

currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

This isn't true. Some women are simply more set for boys. But after only 2, that may not be the case for trifecta.

I don't ever want anyone with history of eating disorders to do LE diet anyway.

I absolutely think it's worth a shot. I would do fiber, coffee, alcohol, exercise, and continue skipping red meat. DH can do OLE and keep running. Eitehr one attempt or e4d would be great too.

I have to put down a lot of specific stuff but that doesn't mean you have to do everything or even ANYTHING any different to get a girl. Most people just walking around in the world get a boy and girl without even trying or thinking about it. Good luck and pink dust.

I"m not convinced that you HAVE to go low fat, either. If you do vegetable fats instead, it seems that matters more than fat and 60 g is still in LE Diet range and not super low fat.

Even just swapping butter for canola based margarine, and canola oil for olive oil, would help. Great point.

Thanks guys! I already drink coffee and wine. I usually have yogurt and a banana for breakfast. I think I'll make the dietary changes that don't seem triggering (fiber, swapping animal fats for vegetable ones, OLE for DH) and see if we feel like making an attempt this spring! We might not even want to when it comes down to it but I think I would like to at least have the option of trying with an better shot at a girl.
