    Hi ladies,

Sorry for lack of posting. I have been stalking but just not posting. Not sure how to write this but to cut it short it looks as though I may be infertile

I have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. I had 2 x operations approx. 18 months ago to embolise and insert coils through the gonodal veins and ovarian veins. This cycle I have been in quite alot of pain (this syndrome causes chronic pain) and my periods seem to be getting heavier and heavier the last 6 months or so. I saw my dr today and she mentioned that I really need to consider a complete hysterectomy if I want the pain and physical discomfort to ease somewhat as the prior operations have not helped very much at all. I told her I really did not want to go that far just yet as we are trying for 1 more baby. This is when she delivered the news that I am probably now infertile anyway from the embolisation. I am yet to get in and see my vascular specialist to confirm this. They did ask me once before I was taken in to theatre the first time "Are you worried about your fertility?" I thought he ment, was I having troubles conceiving, so I told him "No, I already have 4 children"... How could I be so stupid?!! He obviously meant am I worried the op may affect my fertility.

I guess there is nothing I can do now but be greatful I already had children before this syndrome was picked up on (I have suffered it since the age of 12).

    Fathers Day baby!

TTC5, I am so sorry!! That is awful news! Do they know for certain that you can't have more children? I think if I were in your position, I would just keep trying to have another baby. Things may not be as bad as the doctor made it sound. I am so so sorry you were given that diagnosis, and I really hope it is WRONG! We are all here for you.

I am going to ask about IVF perhaps that may work?

I am so sorry to hear this! you would think they would make you sign something before a procedure that affects your fettility to make sure you understand everything, IMO. Hoping IVFwould work for you...seems possible if the issue is the path for the egg to travel down the tubes...

Oh no, so sorry this happened to you. If you were now infertile would you still have your periods? I hope you find out nothing is wrong.
