I think it's definitely possible, especially if you catch the tailend of your surge with the OPK. However, you should also know that the cramps don't always necessarily indicate the moment of ovulation. I was surprised to discover when I started charting with temps that my cramps usually come about 2 days before O!

I dealt with this when my ILs visited last May for a week a couple of weeks after I started the diet. I managed it by being very sneaky. Instead of putting all the food on the table and letting people serve themselves, I plated all the food in the kitchen and so was able to give myself something slightly different without anyone noticing. The night I made burgers for everyone, I made myself a portobello burger and had it all ready to eat in an identical bun, so no one knew I was eating something different. You could probably do the same with pasta - make theirs with a taster sauce but the same type of pasta and maybe no one will notice you're eating something different. I also made lots of girl-friendly side dishes like roasted sweet potatoes, salad and rice and filled myself up on those, hoping no one would notice I wasn't eating any of the meat.

Well we were only planning one attempt for this cycle, which was Friday after I got my positive OPK... so now I just wait and pray it worked! We weren't planning to do another attempt (like O+12 or anything like that) so I guess it doesn't particularly matter at this point because we've already BD.
