Hey ladies, have been having pretty bad morning (all day!) sickness so have only been posting here and there. Trying to catch up on everything now

Lola, I hope that your DH will be all for the donor idea. I know someone who used donor sperm and they haven't told anyone (even parents) that they child isn't biologically the dad's. I guess it's a personal decision though, a very hard one to make.

    Thanks ladies for the adoption!

Lola, your post made my eyes teary. Yes, I've taken it for granted, but what I'm really working on now is being grateful. When I go to my ultrasound, if I hear boy or girl, I want to feel at peace with it, and just be so happy that my babe is healthy and is going to be ours

TTC5, I posted it in the ultrasound board, but I def. think your baby looks boyish and is so cute!

PS: Being on this side of things reminds me of why blue is so special too! It helps keep everything in perspective!

Thanks, Aurora and Bec- I don't want to make you guys sad! I just don't want anyone to have GD ever, so I want to inspire you guys to be totally happy with your baby regardless of gender, ya know? And truthfully, I NEVER thought I'd be one of those infertile ones....I never really gave it a thought in my life, and just assumed that I would get pg in a heartbeat with my new DH. I was way overconfident in my ability to get pregnant and also super obsessed with making a boy. My perspective has changed a ton, so I hope I can help influence you all to not fret as much if you don't get your boy.

I am kinda afraid to start talking about the donor sperm thing with my DH, to be honest.....and by the way, so don't mean to hijack this thread with infertility talk!!!!!......but it is a big step, and there are a lot of things to mull over. Like you said about your friend, Bec, I think I would rather just never tell anyone, but I worry that is totally dishonest to the child. Would you be upset never knowing that the man you call your father isn't actually your biological father but you came from a frozen sperm pop? I might start a thread asking opinions. Anywho.....we'll see......a small part of me still hopes that we end up as one of those stories where it goes, "And we tried and tried, and then were about to order vials of donor sperm and then I found out I was pregnant that morning!"

TTC5, I am going to scope out your baby now!!!!! I am so glad everything looks perfect!!!!!

MFC, I hope you are hanging in there. I really think everything will be just fine, and you might need to just make a few little adjustments to your activity level, etc and all will proceed as normal. xoxo

Well, I don't either....but I think the HCG does 2 things- helps curb your appetite while you have a 500 cal a day diet for a month and also makes your body target your hard to lose fat stores better.....because when you have HCG in your system, your body thinks it is feeding a baby constantly, and there is some mechanism with the human body where it will delve into your thigh and belly fat (the bad fat, not your "good" fat) first to both nourish the baby and keep your body from deteriorating. That is the methodology behind it. Makes sense to me, because mother nature has a way of working well in situations where you can't eat because you have m/s but your baby still gets plenty of nutrition- your body is feeding your baby from your extra unneeded fat stores instead of stealing from your system. At least, this is what I understand from all of my reading about it online. Flava, maybe something to try after your baby comes? I am thinking of trying it for a few months while I prep our minds and hearts for the possible IUI with donor sperm thing (and save money for it).
