aurora- If they give me a 12 week scan and there is a nub seen on it I will post it.
Im not sure how things will go because this time I want to go with a birth center from the beginning.(i only switched to them last time at the end of pregnancy) They say they do every test u/s and all just like at the doc office. But everything is optional and you got to pi what you want to do and what not!
Im so happy they just send me back a email ! To get a proof of pregnancy from them all i have to do is tell them the first day of my Last period & when I had a positive pregnancy test and they email me the proof what i have to send to the insurance!
This is awesome I don't have to make an appointment just to do a stupid pee test for it , like I had to before with my doc.
Then hopefully it will kick in soon and i can make my first appt.!

Can't believe I almost have a Fig, crazy how fast they grow. I am so tired that I fall asleep at about 4pm and sleep all night, but I am still very tired during the day. DH has to make dinner, bathe the boys, and put them to bed. M/S sucks big time because I can't do anything after eating. I wish I could stomach coffee because I hate not being able to do anything. I need to get some fruit creamer so maybe I can get back to doing things during the day. I am not the type to rely on DH to do everything even the times the Dr's told me to rest when I was hurt. (Warning TMI) I have really bad constipation. Even with all this fruit I am eating it takes anywhere between 48hr-7days to go. The Dr said it was ok to take 2 Softeners a day but so far it isn't working (been 2 weeks). I had this problem with the boys but it was only the last mth and it wasn't this bad. Currently on day 5 and I want to scream.

mocha, I do have some days where I just want to know right now to put me out of my misery. But most days I am trying to enjoy the moment of focusing on just a cute little baby in there, and not worried about boy/girl. I guess because last preg. it was so much more fun before we found out DS2 was another boy. I spent the last 20 weeks of that preg plotting my next preg, so I don't want to go that route this time. (I pray!) It does seem like it's going to be really hard to get an early scan with your schedule and esp. if DH doesn't approve. Mine definitely would not approve of an early scan, since we got our free one at 19 weeks.

I sat down with a calendar to try to figure out a date when I could have the scan and came up with the Friday one day before I turn 18 weeks. My two older boys will be in school and dh doesn't teach that day so I could maybe either convince him to stay home with ds3 or, better yet, drive with me to the scan so I won't have to do it alone. The only problem...it's FRIDAY the 13th!! I'm not a superstitious person in general, but I'm not sure I want to tempt fate by finding out such important news on that day. Thoughts, anyone? Am I being silly? The place I'm going only costs $60, so I think I can justify it even if I get my free scan 2 weeks later.

As far as impatience goes, I'm doing a teeny tiny bit better today after you shared your thoughts, auroara. I'm trying hard to slow down and appreciate this pregnancy, since it's definitely my last. I've thought I felt the baby move a couple of times this week, which was exciting. I think next week when the kids are back in school (it was March Break here this week) things will get better since life will be back to its normal fast pace. I think I'd have an easier time waiting if my scan had looked more boyish, but having so many people say girl is getting my hopes up (maybe way too much), especially since the only two techs who've guessed have said girl too.

Hmm...I wonder if I should still consider it.

I still wonder if I can wait that long, though. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow, which means I could technically find out in TWO WEEKS if I found the right place (or told a little white lie and said I was 16.5 weeks). Two weeks sounds sooooo much better than 4 weeks! Then again, I'd hate to find out at exactly 16 weeks only to hear one gender and have it changed at a later scan, so maybe I'm better to wait until 18 weeks? I think it's time to sit down with dh and explain why this is so important to me and see if we can find a date when we could make it work. I haven't even brought it up with him yet because I know he's going to disapprove. I mentioned once a while back that women can find out the gender at 16 weeks and he said 'the baby's sex is decided - you can't change it now'. True, but I'd like to KNOW what the sex is NOW!

PeonyPrincess, my thyroid was all screwed up during my last pregnancy too. I ended up having a nodule that had to be removed (with half my thyroid) after pregnancy. Aside from being a holy terror, my DD is totally normal and healthy. I hope your thyroid issues get cleared up with the meds you will be taking.

Mocha, I am totally superstitious, and I can see why you would be hesitant to get a scan done on Friday the 13th. But if that is the only possible day, then you should probably go for it.
