Yeah, I don't understand why the doc would tell you about the baby that didn't survive. It just seems like it would make you worry more for no reason.
I am feeling better about this one being a boy, although I am sad i'll never experience the girl, dressing, fixing hair, etc. Of course I could see me having a girl and her being such a tomboy that I'd never get to do those things anyway once she was a bit older. LOL
I guess having 4 boys won't be so bad. Maybe when I start feeling that twinge of sadness I need to go to the mall and seek out some people watching for some spoiled bratty teenage girl that is yelling at her mom that she hates her because she can't buy some trampy outfit. LOL

Ya it was kind of insensitive to bring that up at my appt today. It actually was the nurse practitioner, not the doctor and she often says weird things. I was telling her I didn't want to come in every two weeks for an u/s to check my cervical length because I worry about all those u/s on the baby. They were checking because I went into preterm labor with DS1 and my cervix was really short. But They stopped labor and I have delivered both my sons full term so I feel they are being overboard about the u/s. She then told me about that lady who was getting cervical checks every two weeks and still went into labor at 18 weeks. Not sure if she was trying to scare me or what...

Had my appt. today and tech agreed with mat21 test- I really am having a girl
! Baby is healthy and measuring on track, but I have a large cyst behind my cervix
. They said to monitor it for now and didn't seem too concerned. Hoping it goes away.

Congratulations!!A cyst often goes away by itself, I have heard its quite common during pregnancy and I know a few people that had cysts and they where all fine after delivery ( I had a few small ones when pregnant with my dd but it was nothing to worry about)
I was thinking , in the hostpital where im going to have my baby they take the baby away for a few hours after delivery for observation. Can that disturb breastfeeding in anyway? I really want to bf and I dont like that they have that policy because I believe that its important to be close to the baby after birth.

Why would they take baby away from you? and for a few hours? Where I work it is policy that babies are never to be separated from their mother unless medically necessary eg. only if baby or mum are sick and baby needs to go to the nursery or mum is too unwell to have baby with her (VERY rare). It is a well researched fact that early breast feeding (within 1 hour of birth), immediate skin to skin contact and no separation of mum/baby all improve breast feeding establishment and overall success so I find it very strange that any hospital wouldn't allow it. it is something I would definitely be challenging if I were you.

Kiara- I agree with what ruby said, but I know it can be hard to fight regulations also. Could you maybe ask them for baby to stay with you for the first hour?
