I would have noticed any dramatic hormonal effects, too, and I don't recall any. My 5th pregnancy (last with my late husband) was actually conceived maybe 2 weeks before I stopped taking the inositol, so apparently no issues for me in regards to TTC, either. It was accidental and I think that might have been one of the times I Oed (much) earlier than usual, though that might be wishful thinking on my part. This was nearly 8 years ago.

Atomic, what daily dose do you recommend? I'm thinking at least 1.2g based on the study I mentioned.
You had no weight to spare and so wouldn't lose weight on the Myo. I think it's most effective for people who have some issues with insulin resistance and someone with a BMI 17, for the most part would not have that.

I know of some people who have been taking it when they got pregnant but it is too few people over too short a time period for me to feel confident having anyone take it right up to conceiving yet.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I think 2 g is a LOT. I'm just not a superultramegadose kinda gal. The exception would be people who really have severe PCOS (and I'm not sure we even have anyone on here with that severe of PCO but some ladies really struggle with it.) I'd do one sachet a day and then if that doesn't seem to work, you can up it to two.

Atomic, I just wanted to let you know that I have been looking into the uses and safety of myo-inositol and found numerous studies and journals where it is used during pregnancy to treat Gestational Diabetes. Here is one: http://omicsonline.org/the-preventio...56.1000286.pdf. So, it would appear to be safe during pregnancy, IMO.

I don't have any links to studies, but my best friend who's been undergoing fertility treatments for awhile (IUI's so far, IVF on the horizon) has been prescribed myo to help her LPD. Her RE believes it will help egg quality.

She was advised to stop the myo when she gets her bfp because it's untested in pregnancy. Doesn't mean it would harm anything, just that her RE is being supercautious. I believe myo does the same thing as Met, but my friend ended up having adverse reactions to Met so was put on the myo instead.

Wellllll...gestational diabetes can cause problems anyway and it may be a risk/benefit type of thing.

I would personally not chance it, as pg women have been told tons of things are safe that then are later found out to be harmful.

I would think that if you can get your hands on it that Metformin is a better 'pink sway' choice, but of course you'd have to be able to get the prescription in the first place.

I'm on Met for IR anyways so I plan on continuing with it just for sway reasons if we have to TTC naturally.

I would be hesitant to take it, even if you have insulin resistance. I have insulin resistance, but not PCOS, and I ended up having cycles that kept getting longer, and I had trouble conceiving. Day 3 FSH came back 45!! The only explanation given to me by my RE and Atomic was a combination of the myo-inositol (Pregnitude), and nursing. I would NOT take this without careful consideration and discussing this with Atomic and your doctor. Please!! It took me 9 cycles, three months of acupuncture, and working closely with Atomic to get a BFP!!

You can PM me if you have more questions.

You had been taking it for years though, right?? I think it's ok for most people, I am just nervous about using it across the boards because I don't want to mess up people's cycles too much. And I can just about guarantee that it's going to cause a host of side effects like you had XX that we don't even know exist yet.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, the reason why we know what we do now is because you girls are so generous with yoru time to update us.
