I am not sure what a "true" potty shot is...how is it different from a femur shot? if both legs and bum are imaged and appear to be a "potty shot" can scrotum hide if the gender is a boy? My husband and I saw two legs and the bum with nothing in between..at 19 weeks..but I know she was doing a femur measurement..so is it possible to keep scrotum out of the image when both legs and bum are imaged from what seemed to be underneath? Baby actually measured over 20 weeks and my OB Dr did not see scrotum in the shots either when he reviewed my photos for clues. No penis imaged either.
Thank you for all your help in advance,

If you cannot make out labia or three lines, you could be seeing scrotum and the penis hiding. You can't go by images that aren't specifically looking for gender.
A true potty shot isn't a femur shot. A femur shot is a femur shot. Of course gender can be seen on any image taken below the waist but if the tech isn't focusing on gender, anything can be missed, girl or boy.

Ultrasound takes an image which is like a very thin slice through. Things can definitely hide if you are a tiny but above or below you can miss things completely. That's why you'll see the techs scan through and back several times. They are building up a 3D picture in their minds from 2D images.
Very blessed with

Thanks very much for your responses~ I appreciate it! Wouldn't a tech need a true potty shot to determine gender at 19 weeks? The only thing I saw my tech do was I guess a femur shot which I saw nothing between the legs. I watched the whole scan.

This is the only shot the tech gave me unfortunately. I am pretty sure it doesn't show any gender clues. Thank you for looking!
It was 19 weeks 1 day..but baby measured over 20 weeks.

I can't see what's going on down below. Would the person doing the scan not tell you any gender info?

I was told at a 19 week scan that the tech "thought" boy. We did not see boy bits and none were shown to us..we didn't get any photos identifying boy bits either. Fast forward to 26 weeks when I went in to see my OB and the the Dr reviewed my scan and said he did not see scrotum in the "femur" shot and therefore it was 50,50. I am asking about the differences between femur and potty shots because my tech only did femur shots...she did not do a potty shot as my husband and I watched the entire scan. She was never in the genital region except to do the femur shot where both my husband and I saw nothing in between the legs at all...these shots must of been the same the OB saw too as he said no scrotum was visible. I thought at 19 weeks you would have to do a "potty shot" to detect gender properly?? Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance
