Yes I'm with you :-) I think lol its quite difficult to get my head around this diet from the other diet, I would say I would probably have 2 small slices of that bread a day with salad, a banana, some of those snapea crackers and maybe one or two of the gluten free biscuits then for my tea some brown rice with a baked potato and maybe some added veg. I quite like to eat the same things daily so that I know I'm doing it right. I was eating a lot of white bread and crumpets and doing standard LE up until today so just trying to get my head around this diet so I apologise for all the questions :-) I do have alopecia so I wonder if that went against me on the standard LE on my last sway.

Please don't apologize Mandy, that is what I'm here for.

We have had good luck with sway opposites on standard LE, switching to the alt. diets and thus that's why i recommend that. It's working for us to do it that way, I'm not just trying to torture you for no reason.

OK so yesterday I had 2 small slices of the seeded bread that I bought with some salad, a little chicken and a banana. Then for my tea I had egg fried rice (brown rice and using 2 egg whites) with some mushrooms and peppers and a baked potato, I had 2 cups of coffee with a little bit of semi skimmed milk and a can of diet coke. Am I heading along the right lines with this? I'm feeling that its a little low on fat and protein? I quite like to eat reduced fat coleslaw which I could maybe add a little to on salads?

You need to do full fat dairy only on the alt. diets. there is something in even semi-skim that is really bad for blood sguar.

I do think you need more fat and possibly more protein (hard for me to sign off on things like this since I cannot see your portions)

Coleslaw is great. Please use full fat becaue many reduced fat products are high in carbs and "frankenfoods"

I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism with my 2 boys but was properly medicated when I got my girl. I think that player a role.

OK great thank you :-) I know for those with pcos they should avoid caffeine, so does that mean if someone without pcos is following the pcos diet that they should also avoid caffeine? I will tot up my macros tomorrow and see where they are coming in at, as long as I'm eating the right sorts of foods?

Just to clarify as well its just the calories I have to count in the banana and potatoes that I eat is that right? What about blueberries and strawberries? Are those calories only? Thank you :-)

Sorry for yet another question but is wholegrain popcorn OK on this diet? I think I'm getting the hang of the diet now for the most part, I stick to just one slice of wholegrain bread a day now instead of about 4 slices of white bread and 2 crumpets lol didn't realise how many carbs I was eating. Cut my carbs down massively just finding it hard to make sure I'm eating enough fat and protein.

No, you can still do caffeine and we have great results with coffee as a sway tactic.

I do not think the "evidence" that PCOSers should avoid caffeine is good anyway.
