Coconut oil and other agents for raising bbt?or How to warm up cool mommies?

    Hi Ladies of GD!

    I'm usually very cold, my pre-O temps are around 96.6 F / 35.9 C, post O around 97.5 F/ 36.4 C.
I don't have any know thyroid problems and have conceived 3 times in the past with these temps so I know it can be done cool ladies of the forum!

I started taking a tablespoon of coconut oil now daily because l read it helps raise bbt by working on thyroid and metabolism.
Has anyone tried this and can you share the results?
Are there any agents that can help warm my body up lol?

Here is one of the links l found on bbt and coconut oil, if anyone is interested -

FYI: I don't have a thyroid, so even when treated I still run cold all the time. I also have Reynaud's which makes that extra fun... but, I got a girl. Someone else on here also got girls despite having a cool temp.

Question - why do you want to?

If it's for swaying, I have not seen any reliable evidence that it matters - because it is your hormones that make your temps - your temps are irrelevant, if it matters for swaying it's only a result of your hormones and not your temp in and of itself. (so the ladies sitting in a sauna thinking they are swaying, you aren't)

If it's for health, the idea that the human body is "supposed" to be 98.6 is based on info that is not reliable, newer research indicates that it is actually more like 98.2, and it's natural and normal for temp to vary by 1-2 degrees over the course of the day. Your temp is naturally lower in the morning and a lot of women mistake this (since they are temp charting and that's when they test usually) for low temps when really they're just temporary temps LOL.

So, long story short, I do not recommend coconut oil for pink swayers.

If you're in the limits for the day for fat 30-60 g, then you can eat some coconut oil but the fact is that there is 11 g of fat in 1 T of coco oil! That's a third of your fat for the day and it's the extra-good-for-boys saturated kind. Then what do you eat the rest of the day?? If you want to use coconut oil for cooking occasionally that's fine, but I don't think anyone swaying pink should use it as a supplement.

Thanks atomic! I was wondering this not for the sway but in general. Will stop the oil for now, thank you for answering!

Hi MeMom I too conceived with low body temp. My basal body temp never reached 36C until I was pregnant and I had a girl - so there is definitely a chance of getting a girl. I found GD after I had my little one and realised I was living a very LE lifestyle when I conceived.
