    Intro and Questions

    INTRO:

Hi all! I've been contemplating swaying since my third son was conceived. I ended up not swaying at that time because I was already having trouble conceiving. Boy #4 was a surprise, so no chance to sway - and thank goodness because I love him to pieces!

I'm considering a sway attempt for one final baby. Currently, I'm easing into the diet as I do some soul searching regarding how I'd handle a sway opposite. Complicating matters is the fact that I've come a long way in my gde journey and have made such great progesss. I don't want to undo all that by hearing "It's a boy!" for the fifth time. Also, my seven year old son has been desperate for a sister and actually broke down in hysterics when he learned our 3rd was a boy. It was awful! He's also come a long way and I don't want to set him back, either.

    QUESTIONS:

All that being said, I'm easing into the diet now in preparation to begin attempts in May. I plan to add some supplements and one hour of cardio in by the end of this month. For now, I'm focusing on stopping my nonstop snacking, reducing everything (especially protein), and getting used to keeping track of everything. This is all new to me as I usually just eat what I want when I want. And yeah, this boy mom has some weight she can afford to lose - probably 25 - 30 lbs.

    General diet questions:
I'm having a hard time understanding when/how to get enough protein. If you aren't supposed to eat it with carbs, then should I just pair protein with vegetables only and save carbs for another meal? I'm also finding it difficult to reduce fat while eating mostly carbs. Today, for example I've had only 1250 calories (whereas I'd rather start at 1800 to have wiggle room) yet I've had 40 grams of fat and only 26 grams of protein.

    Coffee questions:
I am nursing and drink 1 - 2 cups of half caff a day. I want to increase that to 3 - 4 cups by attempt. Should I do this slowly or wait until closer to attempt and do a more sudden increase. My nursing toddler and I both handle caffeine just fine.

A lot of my calories today came from coffee creamer, but I plan to switch to sugar free as soon as I'm out of my current bottle. Is this a good idea?

Thanks so much if you made it this far! I appreciate the support!!

    Welcome Islandmeadow.

I'm not swaying pink so can't help much with the LE diet specific questions but just wanted to wish you luck with your sway as I can understand the difficulty moving on from GD and the possibility of disappointment again. Sending you some pink dust.

Thanks Mia! On one hand, I want to be able to say I tried. On the other, I'm in a good place and don't want to ruin it. It's nice to know other's understand.
I wish you luck and send lots of blue dust your way as well!
