Is there any truth to this? Starting my sway within the month and I would love to know if any of these will make a difference! DH looked pretty annoyed when I mentioned supplements...

We've found calcium sways blue in large amounts, same for magnesium. Folic acid doesn't sway however it's important for all swayers to take if you're TTC to help prevent neural tube defects. The vitamin c lowering ph.. We've found pH doesn't sway either and a lot of ladies got opposites trying to change their pH. Acidophilus seems to sway blue, along with other probiotics. Cranberry doesn't sway and it also thins the blood, making it unsafe to take.
For DH, we've used cranberry and licorice root. I don't know the stats offhand as I'd have to look it up but I think cranberry and LR haven't gotten great results lately. Atomic has been recommending olive leaf extract more. I don't think calcium sways for men either.'12

I thought I had seen something saying calcium and magnesium didn't sway (Atomic told me that in my last thread) wasn't really sure about the rest of it. All the supplements I've seen listed to sway is insane. Just trying to discern myths from actual possibilities!

I swear I read somewhere that topical magnesium (magnesium oil or lotion, Epsom salt baths) slightly favored pink due to its stress reducing qualities. I have no idea where I read that, though.

Most of us on here got boys, plural, taking those supplements. We've given up on most all of them (most of us have anyway) in favor of just taking folic acid or folate and fiber.
I'll go over them quickly:
Calcium - the best study ever done on diet and gender conceived showed that moms who ate the most calcium had the most BOYS. If you want to use it, it's up to you, but be aware it does NOT lower pH (it can't because it bonds with and neutralizes acid, that's why Tums is an antacid!) and you should use only the supplements and not the high dairy intake, since that may sway blue. Get calcium with no added Vit. D only. I would not take those massive doses, I prefer you guys stick with 600 mg max
Magnesium - this was supposedly meant to make calcium work better. If you don't take calcium, there's no point in taking the magnesium. If you want to take it, no more than 200 mg. The sky high doses suggested on some sites are dangerous and at best will give you horrible diarrhea.
Vit. C - may sway blue, probably doesn't work (you can't really change your body's pH, http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...ph-pickle.html)
Cranberry - when we tracked this in our results it did nothing. It is likely unsafe for women to take (since you have to come off it at ovulation, suddenly, instead of weaning off, which makes your blood go from too thin to too thick, right when youa) DH can take it if you want to give it to him. At BFP just have him wean off gradually by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week then you can drop it.
Acidophilus - when we tracked this in our results it swayed strongly BLUE. We now use it exclusively for blue sways with good results and have dropped it totally for pink. Avoid!
Licorice root - this has gotten poor results for us. While on paper it should sway pink, and we do still use it, the results have been disappointing the last few years. I'm moving away from it for most couples. So I'd probably have you give it a pass unless your husband is below 35 and super fit and possibly has high testosterone.!!!
