    Gaining weight on LE Diet

I havent started working out, but in the one week I tried to do the LE diet while being a couch potato I felt I was gaining weight..ia this normal? I would have expected lower calories meant not gaining..?! Im sure this will change once I start my workout.

Could it be what Im eating? Im doing a lot of pasta, bread.

I’m not gaining weight but I’m not losing any weight. Was wondering if this had any negative impact.

Have you actually gained weight or just feel like you have (bloated)? It is possible you need to be on the PCOS version as some people don't do well on regular LE as it's carb heavy.

Bloated for sure and yes I do feel like Ive gained. Ive always been the one that could easily put on the pounds really fast but then also lose fast too. How is the PCOS one any different? Is there a link.

I was thinking maybe I should start working out.

    Thank you!

Yes I'd first start working out (that is if you like what you're eating now) and then switch over to one of the alternate forms of the PCOS Diet here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html

depends on how much you have to spare - what is your BMI

The cutoff I want you guys to stop losing at is BMI 21 anyway. I think you should keep doing what you are doing already and see what happens - it may be a temporary plateau and weight will come off, or you may want to cut back on cals a little and exercise a bit more and then it will come off.

    Ok. Thank you!
This diet is a huge change for me. I am a typical boy diet eater without trying! Usually high protein, lower carb. Clean eating. And weight lifting. I’m not sure if my body is in shock with all the carbs and lack of physical activity (compared to what I am use to)? Anyway....will keep doing what I am doing for a few more weeks. Thank you!!

Hey, I have had a similar experience on the LE diet so far- like you I normally am a very clean eater with lots of protein and healthy fats and hardly
Ever eat stuff like bread or bagels or rice, pasta, anything carby. Now despite doing more cardio than I used to and eating the same or less calories, I've been at least maintaining the same weight or sometimes gaining! I've always noticed anytime I've cut my carb intake in the past I've dropped weight like instantly. There were a couple weeks on LE where I tried to limit breads and really make up the difference with regular and sweet potatoes and I think I actually lost some weight.
