Thanks, Skrimpy! I may not be the *best* one to live vicariously through, LOL, but we can both do that through the lovely preggos on this board! I really love that first year of babyhood, and I think it is so important for mommy and baby to really bond during that first year, so hopefully concentrating on that and the other kiddos will take your mind off it. How are your older kids doing with the baby? Are they helpful? My oldest is 9 right now too, younger is 6, and they are so eager for me to have a baby (which kinda makes it harder, too) so they can be little mamas.

I know you didn't ask ME this question, but I thought I would tell you that my 7 year old is AWESOME with my 19 month old. She is such a great big sister! THe baby asks for DD1 now when she falls down, or wants something... she loves her big sister better than anybody!
Your girls will do great when you have that little one, Lola. And you WILL have another baby!!!2004

I love seeing a little sister run to a big one when they get hurt! I always wanted a close relationship with my sister but don't have one due to her judgmental nature and my mothers "you two figure it out" method of child raising. I want my girls to genuinely love and depend on each other so when mine do that it makes me feel like I've helped them acheive something so wonderful.

Oh I know I'm blessed to be having a baby, just gotta get used to the idea of a girl as I've never thought of having one. The weird thing is in all my dreams since I've been pregnant the baby has always been a girl, maybe in the back of my mind I knew....who knows. I don't feel as though I need to leave the group, seeing others having boys doesn't upset me or anything. I'm about to go through my baby boxes to pack away the boy stuff and see what girl stuff I'll need as I think I have about 70% boy stuff! Oh well I like shopping so that gives me a good excuse to go
Thanks everyone

Hugs and Congrats Kris! I know it's hard when you expect one gender but hear the other; but like everyone has already commented that is one cute babe! She will steal your heart immediately. I've said it before but I always wanted/felt I'd have boys, I do NOT see myself as really having much to offer my girls ... and when I heard DD1 was a girl I was bummed though nowhere near the GD I experienced with DD2 or 3. But oh my goodness. When I held her after she was born it was instant, and never for a second would I change her. I know you know all of this but sometimes it does help to hear it again
Have fun shopping for her! Will you have any more scans before birth? I think it helps with bonding.
