And yet another Vitex question!

I have long cycles since DS3 (between 36 and 40 days) normally oíng around CD21. After much discussion with my naturopath she advised taking Vitex from CD 1 through to CD14 and then stopping. We are hoping this brings OV forward to CD15/16 and in turn shortens my cycle to a more normal 28 -32days. She said she never advises for it to be taken the whole way through a cycle as it can work like a contraceptive pill.

I'm glad to hear her say that!!!! There are SO MANY naturopaths out there who are telling people to take V all cycle long for months before TTC and that can PREVENT pregnancy!!

I am taking 1000mg.

This is the first month, I am on CD16 and I think I will ov today or tomorrow. So must be doing something.

Havent started any swaying yet. I want to get my cycle right, my weight down and get DS3 sleeping through the night first! He's almost 2 its about time!

AS another friend is also on Vitex to lengthen her LP and was also told the same thing as me by a completely different Naturopath in another part of Australia. Apart from she has to take it CD 1 -10 and is on a higher dose. I will also say it makes me have very sore boobies (just as a side note if anyone is wondering about side effects!)

that's good, I'm glad to hear that!! My experience has been, vitex before ovulation works quite well.
