Mummyof4boys: Did you put cream or sugar in your coffee? Im sure Atomic is hating this question, because Im fairly certain that doesn't make or break a sway, lol.

KSMom: If HT was an option for us, I'd probably do it, too. It's such a mental battle, trying to decide my next step. It literally changes every day.

While officially I prefer you guys to have cream/milk and then no sweetener or artificial sweetener in coffee, personally I chose to leave this as a cheat and have real live sugar in my coffee in the morning. It was a cheat, but I knew since my prev. sway had produced an opposite that there were no guarantees and coffee without sugar in it saps my will to live LOL.

Boyshopping - it sounds like our last sways were very similar, although you exercised longer than I did. I added in other things, but our diets sound alike!

I think the best question anyone can ask themselves in that situation is "do I want a baby or do I want a girl?"

Great thread! Thanks to everyone who responded as it’s been really useful.

It’s great to hear you’re going HT ksmom. You’re soooo helpful on here it would be great to hear that you’ve got your girl.

HT would be great, but it is illegal in the UK so I’d have to go abroad, plus I’m 40 so I’m too old for it to be great odds of success, so I feel like swaying is my only option.

It’s interesting to hear that your hubby has told everyone ksmom. It’s such a taboo subject here. When it’s discussed on TV here people blast others for even having a preference. I see nothing wrong with wanting to experience being a parent to both sexes. I couldn’t tell anyone about my desire for a girl except my hubby for fear of being blasted for it and that I should just be grateful for a healthy baby (which is obviously everyone’s first priority). This is such a great site. I feel ‘safe’ here.

KSMOM, preach. I don't think I'm mentally prepared to answer that question. Again, it changes daily.

Thank you! I truly love helping everyone here, hence why I became a mod! I so hope you get your girl too.
Yeah I guess it's just different here in the US. Where I live, i get asked almost daily if we're going to try for a girl by complete strangers. Even the people DH has told about doing HT have been cool about it. I don't know if I'd tell my side of the family though...they're quite conservative. They don't even know I had GD because I've kept my feelings so well hidden. I've always acted like gender doesn't matter around them. I've told DH though to stop telling people about HT mostly because I don't think it's their business plus I don't want to deal with anyone that may possibly think it's a horrible idea.

And that's okay! It's a really hard decision to make and a tough pill to swallow. I'll admit I do have brief (and I mean very brief lol) moments where I think I'd give swaying another shot. It doesn't happen often though and I learned after DS3 that while I LOVE my boys, I don't think I'll feel truly complete unless I have a daughter. I think if I swayed again and got another boy, I'd love him of course but I think I'd be bugging DH to have a 5th and in that case I'd be back at square one wanting to go HT.
