Oh honey I'm so sorry. I feel with ds2 and was very sore for a few days but think my biggest wound was mentally, I cried (not a crier) from the shock and relief that baby was ok (missed hitting my bump but twisted to do so and did my back). If you find you are sore after I saw a naturopath that did acupuncture and a physio and the acupuncture was what saved me.

Omg geCon the exact same thing happened to me, when we told my mum! We had named bubs and ds1 was letting slip left right and centre (he's 4) so we decided to announce it. Thing is when baby isn't born yet, people feel they have a right to make what they think are subtle suggestions if they don't like it (not subtle), where if baby is born and named there is less scope for that (somebody always gives it a go).
I can tell you that after going through EXACTLY the same emotions in response to mum's comments (she called me for weeks suggesting this and that name) finally a month later she called me and said "a lady at work's daughter is called that name you chose, and she's beautiful and lovely, and my other friend also said she knew a girl with that name and everyone at work loves it" and that was it, she was on board because some randoms told her it was good, when myself and dh loved it, oh no that wasn't enough. Grrr! BUT if anything, despite taking away some shine from the name initially, I feel now being proven right (lots of others have loved it) has almost made me even more sure of the name. Plus baby now has an identity linked to this name and I ain't changing it for anyone. The boys know her by it and that's enough for me.
To distract her maybe you could let her go suggesting middle names (even if you have that chosen too) then it won't bother you so much. Explain exactly how sure you are, this is the only name you and dh agree on etc. I don't think my mum grasped how serious I was about it when I told her, until I had to keep fending off her name suggestions and eventually lost it and told her exactly how important it was and that she was ruining it. She felt so bad (we have a great relationship usually) and totally changed her tune (with the help of those colleagues).DS1 2009, DS2 2011.

Most of the pain is concentrated on the right side....but the bump was kept nice and safe with falling on my bottom! I have been coughing so much that I have made a certain spot near my right boob hurt....I believe that labour pains will feel better than I do right now
It is such a sunny beautiful day here with minimal snow and no freezing rain....totally perfect for a birthday!!!

Pumpkin I don't have time to reply properly now but just LOL LOL LOL re the names conversation. Made my morning!!
Also can't wait for you to pop out two babies and hear about the ones who didn't know it was two and their reactions. FYI you will get size comments no matter if you tell people it's twins or not, "you sure it's not twins in there" is one of my all time faves (NOT!!)DS1 2009, DS2 2011.

I'm doing well, thanks. I was telling DH that I was pretty sure you'd start showing by now, Pumpkin (he pops his head over my shoulder every once in a while to check in on everyone!) I didn't think I'd start showing quite yet, but apparently look quite big. I'd been putting it down to bloating, but maybe not so much when a friend at work who knows said "yeah, you really look like your tummy's popped!" DH has been saying so too. I was expecting not to show for another couple of weeks. So... hmm... too big for regular waisted pants, but likely too small for maternity wear. Awkward.
LO loves McDonalds cheeseburgers. Had one from there a couple of weeks ago which didn't agree - too much ketchup, but soooo good. Not really what I'd count as a craving, but I count as a 'safe' (albeit unhealthy) food. S/he won't be getting loads - no worries! Had the first little bit of ice cream today which didn't disagree too much. Loves milk, especially in milkshake form. And cheddar cheese. CANNOT handle coffee. At all. Not only the taste but the smell too, especially cold, white coffee. Morning commutes are thankfully short, so I'll live.
Pumpkin, do you find out the gender at your 12 week scan or is it further along for you? I'm still very much in two minds about finding out. DH says he's happy either way to find out or leave it as a surprise, but found out he really does want to know. I have a feeling I will cave and find out - I'll feel mean withholding it if he wants to know.

Hahaha Ladybugs!! No such luck despite nice regular tightenings again this evening. We've got the builders coming tomorrow for 2 days to fit our woodburner, then DH is going to decorate the front room before the carpet gets fitted next week. Oh yeah & the countdown is on with the boys opening their advent calendars this morning. 23 days left 'til Xmas...somehow we have to fit a birth in!
(Thankfully all our pressies are wrapped & hidden) Trust me the whole world will know when I go into labour, I'll be soooo excited!! Come on babies!! Charlee will be first for sure & I can't wait to see the announcement
Btw, I'm so glad that little miss was saved from any harm when you fell, but you have all my sympathyFalling over when pg is so devastating emotionally, nevermind being hurt too. Big big hugs to you. We had the same weather here too today minus the snow & below freezing temperatures - well just above at 4 degrees.

Meeks, I am glad to hear that you and your mum have come out of it the other side. My mum and I also have a really good relationship normally, that's why I am so gobsmacked that she would even do that.
As for the favourite comments.. or NOT: Mine would have to be "Not long to go now, huh?" or "This LO is going to be here before Christmas, right?". Erm, no, he's in fact not due for another 6.5 weeks.
Bunny, I doubt that you will be able to find out the gender at 12 weeks. Has someone told you you could? NHS don't usually tell until 20 weeks, private gender scans usually from 16 weeks. Sometimes you can see something from 14 weeks, although I think there is still room for error then, but at 12 weeks I don't think gender can be predicted conclusively.

Woohoo, Dreamofpink. Exciting about the tightenings. Maybe Charlee and you could start us off having our babies by having them on the same day.

Gecon, I think anyone trying to sway opinion on names that blatantly is well out of order. If you & DH love it then it's tough luck for everyone else. They've usually had their chance at picking names & this is your chance now. Use the name, but perhaps don't mention it again until it's a done deal & the birth's registered
Btw your LO could be here by Christmas! I just hope mine is too as my midwife friend pointed out if I just keep going until he's ready then spend a few days in labour he could be born Xmas week. (I'm refusing all types of induction due to the risk of rupture) I bloody hope he'd here a lot sooner, though I doubt he'll be here as soon as the 3rd!

True... I thought there may be a possible inkling of gender by then (I'll be just over 13 weeks by then) as far as people posting their nubs on the boards. I know there's still a big margin of error by then, but thought there'd maybe be an inkling. Honestly if not, I don't mind - for right now I just want to make sure all is well in there and baby and I are fine. DH will have to sweat it out a little longer!
