So I took a pic of my sons scan at 8 weeks (left) vs today's scan with new baby (right) at 7w4d. I can't tell if they're alike or if they're different lol. Why oh why does the wait seem so long? Lol btw- I ended my former pity party.

I'm not sure. Probably not because after swaying for a year this time... If it's not a girl, I just don't make them.

Yes lol that. His job is super stressful (we own an industrial company here in the south) and he lifts heavy junk alllllll the time. Soooo there's that. Oddly enough his Brother has two girls and they desperately wanted the last one to be a boy. Nope.

BunnyGirl I would feel the same way. My In-laws aren't excited either about this third baby, they think no one should have more than two. My FIL said to DH "I don't know why you would want a girl, they're nothing but a headache and trouble." DH sister was a challenge for them to raise but it was due to circumstances they created and maintained, not bc she was a girl.
What I don't understand is if they aren't the ones raising them or helping pay for anything then what the hell do they care? They don't have to spend anymore of their money on this baby, they can stop buying so much toys and junk for our two and divide between the three or stop buying presents completely for all I care. We have plenty, we need nothing and when we tell them something the boys do need to get for a gift they refuse bc it's not "fun". Sometimes I think my in-laws are just miserable and want to make everyone else as miserable as they are. Maybe that's your in-laws problem too! Sounds like your FIL has issues with control. I say if they don't add any joy to your life then it's time to cut them loose, family or not. That's why it's our goal to move away from our families as soon as DH gets a promotion. We need to create a positive environment for our kids, and I don't think that will be possible as they get old enough to understand more.
Hoping you can separate yourself from the negativeness of your FIL. I think you have MUCH to be excited and happy about and I hope your DH can find the courage to stand up for you and your family to them. Thinking of you!!(DS2009)

Omg I can't imagine!! Hopefully you guys can stay away from him. My in laws annoy me sometimes but I know our families are going to be freaking out and happy. My mother in law has 5 granddaughters so she's going to be annoying about if it's a boy or not. Ugh his whole family will be and that drives me crazy. I get really protective of my girls, like what's wrong with them?!?!

Yay, Lauren! Congrats on the nice strong heartbeat.
Bunnygirl--that is just so unfair. I'm so sorry you've got in-law drama!
We told the kids last night. 6 year old is so excited he's been telling random strangers all day. Lol! My 16 year old's reaction: "Uh...can you afford another kid? Do you have time for another kid?" Ha! Gotta love a practical teen. I told him not to worry--his college fund is already funded and he doesn't have to share a room with a baby sister. He seemed mildly reassured by that. Waiting to tell everyone else until Easter. We have a fun reveal planned, but i have a feeling 6 year old will blurt it out before we have a chance.

Let's talk weight gain and bellies. I haven't gained weight at all, still down 8lbs. and I'm 11 weeks. I'm not really showing, unless you count the bloated stomach at the end of the day which really makes me look chubby and disappears in the morning. I'm spreading out more than growing out. My bras feel too tight around the band (I think this may be a side effect of the nausea and loose clothing feels so much better.) and my jean are tight around the waist but not out in front so much as the whole way around, but they fit everywhere else. So I gave in this week and pulled out the maternity clothes so I could be more comfortable. I've always had an ultrasound by now in my previous pregnancies so I felt a little more reassured by the heartbeat and such. I've never had a baby with the Dr. I have now, but she hasn't ordered any ultrasounds yet. She said we'd talk about it next appt. I wish I had asked for an ultrasound now. Everyone in my circle of friends keeps commenting on how much earlier they showed with each consecutive baby. Should I be worried? Is anyone else not gaining or showing yet?

I've gone from 137 to 162 so far. Yikes! I definitely have a baby bump. I'm bigger at 17 weeks with the twins than I was at 28 weeks with my other kids. I'm doomed. LOL
