I have what I believe is lots of EWCM -- it's not like it super abundant throughout the day, but I will see it for about 6-8 days before O...generally starting the first or second day following AF. It is low in ph, 4-4.5 and jumps to around 5.5-6 at Ovulation.
My question: is having EWCM always favor Y sperm...even if you have a ph that is more acidic and favorable to X? Thanks!

I wish I knew. We just honestly do not have enough data to know.
The fact is that even when we test our pH at the opening of our cervix, we have no way to know or say what is happening up inside. Our uterus and Fallopian tubes ALWAYS have higher pH than what our VJ has...our Fallopian tubes even grow special cells around ovulation that do nothing but churn out alkaline pH (in the 7's) and uterine pH is always in the high 6-7's (uterine pH is a bit lower to help keep infection at bay). Even the fluid that comes from the egg follicle itself is high in pH (7's). This leads me to believe that pH is not very important if at all and makes me think it's the amount of EWCM that matters far, far more - but I cannot prove it.!!! That's interesting. I guess it makes sense, isn't 7ph the ideal level for conception...so I guess our system just naturally tries to get us to the best possible level to make conception possible?

Exactly. Egg and sperm and zygote all thrive in medium pH (7's) and so that's what our body "wants" to be.
pH of amniotic fluid is also in the low 7's.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
