Question about OPKs and how to read them

I had a + OPK yestereday morning. Early this morning, it was - and much lighter. But I haven't had a change in EWCM. When would I have ovulated and how would I attempt O+12 if I get a + one morning and - 24 hours later? I'm not TTC this month

That's a good question....opks trip me up some months also. Do you still have ewcm? I will get + then - then + again sometimes, and I'm a pretty expert opk-taker, so I know I'm not messing them up! Maybe you are ovulating closer to the 48 hours after rather than the 8 hours, as you know the range is supposedly 8-48 hours after a +? I'm interested to see what the experts say here.....good luck, though, pinkie pink dust your way!

I'm not checking my temps because I still get up with the kids at night and wake at different times. And I meant to say my CM hasn't changed, not EWCM - oops! But I still have EWCM. I have had such a small amount of CM this month where I usually have a lot. I just hope to figure this out by May when we TTC our DD.

All OPK's do is tell if you had an LH surge or not. You can have a surge and then for whatever reason, the egg doesn't make it out of the ovary. Your body will try again in a few hours or days and you'll get another positive then. If you're still having EWCM, you ~probably~ didn't ovulate yet but it can be hard to tell when you're swaying because your normal bodily functions are different.

Thank you Atomic! I think I need to chart for 2 more months. But after only trying to figure out when I O, I just can't help but to think I'll mess up my sway.

With every fiber of my being, I believe timing is the absolute LEAST important part of swaying. If it even matters at all, it is only just a little bit difference. If you have a spare minute or two, you may want to read http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...rm-and-Y-sperm (because the entire idea that timing mattered was based on a mistake.)

I would not stress one iota over it because stress can inadvertently sway blue. So you end up ruining your sway trying to achieve something that probably doesn't even matter.
