Ok so I've accepted that timing doesn't sway, after ds2 was a shettles fail, and reading this site.
There has been much discussion about frequency here and how that's more important than timing. But November will be my third month tax girl when previously I had two boys just by looking at my husband as he walked past (well, almost). We aren't I'm a rush and its not dire straights just yet, but am starting to wonder if there's something I can do different without compromising my sway.
Firstly, my boys were both born after my diet was heavily soy milk based, and huge supplicant intake along with green tea and high nutrient, all of which are typical boy diets and also increase fertility, unsurprisingly, as these go hand in hand.
I also tended to bd every second or third day to get them, but I doubt this really did much.
My girl attempt is no supplements except frolic acid and cranberry from af to o (don't want to drop this as my ph is naturally very high, interestingly i get a lot of urinary tract infections, so cran helps that, and this is something I really feel is going to sway). But so far our girl attempts have been hot shower just before, and antihistamines for me 2hrs before, and abstain 6-7 days before. This means we only get one shot and last month it was a day before o so we should have had good chances.
Should we scrap abstain and bd every few days though my fertile week, keeping antihistamine and hot shower tactics? I'm not up for frequent bd with two young kids around, and dh won't release on his own (fair enough).
Anyone who has girls want to weigh in with what their frequency was or boy mums of failed sways?

no sure if it helps any but with all of our boys we have bd infrequently, every few days - ds3 was a failed sway (cut off) and we tried for fr to lower sperm count as well but we missed a few days so was more like 4 miss on, 2 miss one, 3

Not a girl mom......yet- but with our boys we BD'ed every day through O (about 4-5 days in a row). And we used preseed. This time we decided to do abstain. We abstained for 11 days and then BDed only once about 36-48 hours before O. We used Rephresh every 3 days and about 20 min before our attempt. I was also taking Vitex, saw palmetto, baby aspirin, frolic acid, and acidophilus. DH took mag, cal, and cranberry (couldn't take LR because of blood pressure meds). Still don't know gender yet... Should know soon though

I got my boys with regular BD every 2-4 days...and got my girl with somewhat less regular BD but it was still about every 4 days.
One thing that was different with her than most of my other conceptions was that we only had one shot in my fertile window - I think with the others (except DS 1 when we were 20 and superhuman LOL) there was probably at least 2 attempts in the fertile window, even tho I had cutoffs for sure with 3 of the 4 and maybe even the last one (he was a surprise and I wasn't sure when I Oed with him), I had still DTD more than one time.!!! To answer the original question, keep in mind it can take fully fertile couples doing nothing to sway 3-6 months to get pg. People panic after a BFN but really, it may just be that you need a dose of Vit. P - Patience.
Now, I happen to like people getting pg within 3-6 months just for sanity's sake, but if you're not ready to give up anything yet, that's fine. OR you could drop EITHER abstain (I'd have you switch to FR instead and see if that works for you) or antihistamine, not both.
I owuld NOT have you BD every few days thru your fertile week, that's going to sway blue for you. If you don't want to do FR, another option would be to just have DH release on his own every 2-4 days and then keep the one attempt. (so drop abstain, keep one attempt)!!! Ok thanks, that makes it clearer.
We might stick to what we are doing and try being patient (not natural for me)!
My few concerns are mainly that I can't afford to loose too much more weight on this diet, and Christmas is approaching so for December I'll have to take a month off as it would be impossible to stick to the diet personally with all that food around, but also without parents thinking something is up. If nothing happens in November we might just use protection for December and keep the diet up where convenient but not stress too much.
Low cal is easy, I do that often anyway, and can keep up for extended time for weight loss, but being vegetarian AND excluding many high nutrient veggies is difficult. I read the full le diet description and although it says no foods are excluded, it also goes into detail to say some foods are very boy friendly and should be avoided where possible: avocado, dark leafy veggies, bright fruits, banana etc.
And even as a vegetarian, low protein is hard! Everything seems to have it! Getting used to low salt slowly, loving rice for that.DS1 2009, DS2 2011.

Are you talking about the diet suggestions for pink thread? That's not the LE diet. That was an early attempt to make the existing sway diets more in line with LE principles...I didn't think people would give up the french diet and didn't think anyone wanted a new diet. It was WAY too restrictive and so I made the actual LE Diet. The nutshell version I just posted. If you have a choice between a less and more nutritious veg, pick the less nutritious, but if not, more nutritious veg and fruits are still allowed and in fact low carb ones are totally unlimited. Bananas are 100% fine on LE Diet as are the other options. Even avocado can be ok on a day you have had a lot of protein but still need cals and fat.
