Hi ladies!
In your opinion, what is the best sibling age gap? I know it varies by each family for different reasons. We are trying to decide whether we should try for the 20-22 gap versus 2.5+ years apart.
Thank you for your insight![]()

My first 2 are 2 years apart and then my 2nd and 3rd are 5 years apart... I like the 2 year age gap so this time my fourth should be less than three years from my third if it goes as planned

oh there's 16 months between my two boys we started ttc in april hoping for a less than a 2 year gap between ds2 and hopefully dd! however it's now going to be at least 2 yrs 3 months ;-(
16 months was hard work to begin with but begining to see the benefits now! it wasn't planned!

I know, you can try your hardest to get the perfect gap and it may be sooner/later than you planned for anyway! Thank you for opinions

My 2 girls are 18 months apart, and while it was hard work when they were younger (now 3 and 19 months) its sooooooo good now! they play all day with each other and are the best of friends. Of course they fight like all little girls do, but best decision we made was having them close together. The new baby will be 2 years younger then my youngest.

I am a fan of the 3 years. Currently, we've got a 16 mos age gap and that is wayyy too soon, at least for my sanity, lol.

Higher risk for autism when kids are close in age too.

The autism thing is you need to wait two years between pregnancies to reduce chances my middle son is autistic and I am starting to think my youngest is too and they are 5 years apart

My boys are 21 months apart. It was very hard work, because my second cried a lot. At ten weeks we discovered he was allergic for cow's milk protein ( thank God i've read the book of linda palmer when i was pregnant) via my milk. I think it totally depends on the character of the kids. I could have had ten of my oldest son, peanuts, piece of cake.
