I have never experienced mid cycle spotting in my life, not even when TTC my ds1 or 2. Now TTC a DD, 3rd month and each month I've been spotting mid cycle.
It seems to be ovulation spotting, although one month bbt's confirmed o on the 2nd day of spotting, the next month I seemed to o 3 days after the spotting. Both months the spotting only lasted 2 days.
I just began spotting again today and since we were going to do abstain and last month was a short cycle I have no idea when to expect to o. Going to DDT tonight then do a 'hurry up fr' tactic (compressed fr) for next few days to avoid missing my window.
Opk negative, I test 3 times a day. I'm only om cd 13. Previous month I o'd on cd 18 and month before on cd 24. I usually have 34 day cycle but last month was 29 days.
Bmi is 19.6 so don't think It's due to being underweight although I've lost 5kg on the LE diet.
Will I miss it if I bd tonight? Does anyone else spot? Any advice on when o usually happens after spotting?

Hi,
I have been lurking on Gender dreaming for the last 11months, but haven't posted. I too spot every month since beginning swaying for dd. I find that it is usually about 1 week, but sometimes less, out from O. I had noticed that it became more regular once starting the diet and cranberry supps. Prior to this is was only every other month. I mentioned it to my midwife and she didn't really say much other than it was probably due to ovulation. After many google searchesI am none the wiser
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

If you've never had ov spotting before swaying, I suspect this isn't ov spotting but a bit of breakthrough spotting/bleeding. Can be a sign of shifting hormones and imbalances. I wouldn't freak out yet but certainly keep an eye on things during your LP. If you have low post-ov temps, or many dips during the LP, or more spotting in the LP I'd be thinking there might be a progesterone thing going on.
What does the spotting look like? If it's not just a bit of pink-tinged CM or brown, and actually red, it sounds more like breakthrough bleeding. If you don't get a BFP this cycle you might want to have some tests run to check that your hormones are all as expected.Me (38) and DH (38)

Thanks so much! It's dark brown usually, very globby (tmi sorry) I am usually dry since swaying but I've had big blobs of what looks like fertile mucas with dark brown in it. Only seems to happen leading up to o... I have long heavy periods though with a day or two of spotting before or after but that spotting is just brown blood no mucas.

I"m not sure what is going on, but I think spotting leading UP to O might not be prog related and would instead be low estrogen, not prog. Either way I think the only way to get answers is to see a doc and have bloodwork done.

So a few people have mentioned low progesterone as the reason for my regular spotting, and my short luteal phase (10 days). After a bit of research I have to agree. As I am 1dpo right now there's not much I can do this cycle, but I plan to see a doc when af arrives if I don't conceive, since I'm taking December off TTC anyway.
But for anyone else that finds this thread, progesterone cream and vitamin b6 are natural ways over the counter you can help extend literal phase. In Australia, progesterone cream isn't available over the counter unfortunately for me! WARNING these are both things that have very specific introduction amounts and timing so please research it first, and both must be continued or weaned slowly when pregnant so really do check if you use these, or miscarriage is possible.
For foods that help naturally raise progesterone, which is what I'm doing as a last ditch, last minute attempt to save my cycle, see here:
http://www.livestrong.com/article/53...-progesterone/
Annoyingly all of these are 'boy friendly' foods and limited on most girl diets including IG and LE diets, however since I'm following the LE diet and technically there are no banned foods if you stay in the calorie/sodium/fat/protein limits, I'm introducing some back in just for my literal phase this month. Hopefully this results in a sticky little egg. I am focussing on 1 banana a day, 1/4 of an avocado, and 150ml of soy milk, which I had stopped for my sway despite it being mostly seen as a girl sway thing, because I had two boys on soy milk, but I never spotted before and there is research saying soy beans help raise progesterone so its worth a shot, since I also never spotted mid cycle (or at all) before. I'm still In the daily totals for LE diet so I feel this wont ruin my sway.
Interestingly all those listed foods were high in my diet with my boys, perhaps that's why I never spotted, why I had boys, and why I conceived much quicker than while swaying girl!!!DS1 2009, DS2 2011.

It's maddening, isn't it? Stupid hormones!
Great info, meeks. I wanted to add that B6 does sway boy (and it did for me, I conceived my last two boys using B6 to lengthen my crappy LP) so for any pink swayers it's probably worth a trip to your doc and get prog levels tested and go with prog suppositories over B6.
Also, if your problem is estrogen dominance and low prog, Vitex is highly effective. From my research, Vitex doesn't work as well if that's not your issue.Me (38) and DH (38)
