Hi,
I am 99% certain that my tech was right and I'm having another boy, but just out of interest I wondered if anyone knew how accurate sideways profile ultrasound images are to tell gender at 19 weeks compared to potty shots?
I really wanted a potty shot but the tech didn't do one at all and stuck to sideways profiles for pretty much everything. It looks pretty obvious that there are boy bits there but of course as I was hoping for a girl part of me wonders whether it could be swollen girl bits. Is that less likely to be the case on a sideways profile?
Also I heard somewhere that the testicles don't descend until later than 20 weeks but on my scan pic it looks like you can see them sitting inbetween the legs as you can see from the 'money' shot she gave us here:
I think I am just grasping at straws because my other two boys were so much clearer on the ultrasound. This time I thought it was a boy earlier on in the scan but wasn't sure if I had just seen the cord. Everyone I have shown this to so far as said definitely a boy so I know it most probably is, and I'm actually coming round to that idea but I just wondered why the tech only did a profile shot and not a potty shot which would surely have shown everything very clearly? xx

Side shots are a great way to capture boy parts at any gestation.

Thanks lovemy4
Would girl bits not show on a side profile shot or would it be possible to see three lines still?
I guess as well because the tech got a clear shot she didn't feel the need to do a potty shot too. xxDS1 - 4.5yrsDS2 - 3yrs

Thanks Cinss, I've been so bad Googling ultrasound pics so I'm trying to ban myself lol!! Most of them are potty shots.
I'm sure it is a boy, but you can't help but have that tiny bit of hope that it could be something else on the scan pic. People keep telling me the techs at the hospital I had my scan at have got it wrong on numerous occasions, but I know that it is a pretty clear scan shot and the chance of it not being a boy are absolutely tiny!
I'd probably be doing the same if I'd been told girl and wouldn't have believed it!! I get another scan at 32 weeks so at least I should know for absolute definite then and have my head around it all. Need to get the cases down and start sorting through my boys baby clothes!! xxDS1 - 4.5yrsDS2 - 3yrs
