How early will your doc induce??

For those of you who get induced with your babies, How early will your doc induce? I ask because my old OBGYN back in Utah would only induce 1 week early and no sooner. I am now in Ohio, and I have a friend who said her doc pushed her to induce 2 weeks early. I haven't even decided if I will be induced, but because of DH job, I probably will. The real reason I am seriously considering it is because I have TERRIBLE pregnancies and cannot walk so my mom will fly out here to Ohio to help me out from May until baby is due SEPT 30. Well my whole family is aware of me due date and the fact that my mom will be here for 5-6 months, but now I just got a text from my sister saying she is planning on getting married on SEPT 13 and her exact words were "Obviously mom would come back home for my wedding"!!!! That is when I need my mom most, during the last few weeks I can not move or walk at all by myself. I need help with my boys.
Anyway, this is turning into a long story sorry!!! I am just super frustrated because my husband called my mom to have her commit to 5-6 before he would even start TTC!!! Ugh this is her 3rd marriage, I don't want to be rude, but my kids haven't seen their Gammy for over a year, and I REALLY NEED HER! I was thinking if my dr will induce me 2 weeks early then maybe I can convince my sister to postpone her wedding two weeks! My mom cannot afford to fly to home to the wedding then fly back to be with me then fly home again so I am really upset!!!! I did call my mom the second I got that text from my sister, and she informed me that she would not fly home for the wedding, and stay with me. However, I know my sister and she is gonna throw an absolute fit if my mom stays in Ohio with me! UGH!!

I really think that depends on the doctor and the hospital you go to. You could always ask at your next appointment.

With the new "healthy america" thing, March of Dimes, and ACOGs changing standards, i believe they want doctors to wait until at least 39 weeks of pregnancy, this excludes legit medical concerns (such as pre-e or GD, etc). But some doctors are super pushy about inductions, and would rather the birth occur on their watch, even if that means a couple weeks before EDD. Other doctors frown upon them if they are unnecessary and want you to wait until you are postdated. (not to be confused with overdue)

LOL I never go early! I just wish my sister could plan around it, I am already pregnant, I can't change that. She can be flexible with her date seeing as how this is her 3rd marriage and it will be small and quaint. Unfortunately, she always gets it the way she wants

unless it's absolutley medically necessary you should never ever induce before 39 weeks. They have recently found 37 weeks is not really full term, 39 weeks is. My doc will do a week early but I would never ask to be induced as I don't believe it's a good thing unless either mom or babies life is in danger. Inducing is the reason for many problems and the huge rise in c-sections.

Just wanted to say how absolutely selfish your sister is! If I was in the same situation, I'd certainly postpone or reschedule my wedding so that my mother could help my sister. So sorry you suffer so badly in pregnancy. Hope it all gets resolved soon and I agree, your mum should stay with you, it's already been arranged and is your sister's third wedding afterall.

If I was your mom I wouldn't be flying back for a third wedding that is insane and super selfish of ur sister cause she is so well aware of your difficult pregnancies... I would tell her that she is selfish and put her in her place...

Not to be harsh but let your sister throw her fit. Its up to your mom where she needs to be and beyond that, not your problem.

People can have all the fits they want, but if you are like a camel and just let that water (fits) roll off your back...pretty soon the fits stop because there is no gratification in a fit if nobody is listening. (toddler education 101) LOL
