Low Progesterone after D&C - what can I do?

Hi, since my MMC and D&C in early Feb, DH and I have been TTC. I have been getting my period every 23-24 days since the D&C and before that was always a 28 day girl. I went in to talk to my OB about this and she agreed to draw my progesterone levels to take a peek. Well, just got them back today and at CD21 (which is when they draw - 1 week after OV) my level was 9. Can anyone give me any info on this? I am so upset now and have been SO messed up since my D&C. What can I do to increase my progesterone level to get pregnant? Does anyone know what a 9 means? Any advice would be so helpful. I am at my wits end feeling so alone and sad. My heart just breaks every day that passes. Thank you!

I had a miscarriage in Dec. Since then we have still been TTC and I have started working nights. WHen I was TTC DD2 I was also working nights which impact my progesterone levels. I have the brown spotting before and after AF and a few other signs of low progesterone.

I went to my doctor and asked for the vaginal progesterone suppositories as I had to take them to get prego with DD2. When TTC DD2 I kept getting prego but couldn't hold onto the pregnancy because of low progesterone.

I think the sperm met the egg this past month by what I saw in AF but I don't think I had enough progesterone to hang on to it.

I am not familiar with progesterone levels and the exact numbers but I do know doctors can order progesterone levels drawn in the LP to see what's going on. In the book 'Take Charge of your Fertility' she suggests having the progesterone levels drawn more than once in the luteal phase.

You could ask your doctor for the progesterone suppositories, not sure what the response will be but its worth a try. Their are also oral progesterone pills and a shot, but I would rather the vaginal suppositories than anything else.

Atomic says vit B6, over a long period of time, and lots of rest can be helpful for low progesterone.

Hope that helps! I feel your pain, I've been TTC for 8 months now....so disappointing.

onthepond, I feel you, have been there, just had my LP move from 10 to 13days. Initially was 6days. I took vitD. royal jelly, and Redoxon vit c with zinc. tried to take a nap during breaks and weekends. Switched off every single light in the house except my DD's room which has a dim light. This is what worked for me. GDL dear.

I am so sorry, I started to reply to this but must have gotten interrupted.

The boy supps (the Gender Dreaming ones, not the IG ones) are good for prog levels. I would also make sure to eat a full fat yogurt every day and if at all possible, 2 eggs a day. The cholesterol and fat in them will give your body fuel to make its own progesterone.

The B6 can help sometimes, 50 mg a day from now thru end of first trimester of pregnancy, then gradually wean off.

I agree with Lovebabies about the light, be sure you are sleeping in the dark, not even lights on TV or alarm clocks if possible. Then just for 3 days around ovulation, turn on a dim nightlight.
