    Confused Advice pls re DH

    Hello All,
I am slowly getting my head around the diet stuff etc (planning, not doing yet!!), but the area of SH keeps stumping me and I could really do with your advice.
DH does all the cooking and has said he is happy to have the same evening meal as me as he is quite keen to lose weight. He usually has apple & banana for breakfast and a homemade soup for lunch. Sometimes he gives in to the biscuit tin at work (and when he does its usually 10x biscuits at once, lol!). He also runs approx 15km a week (2x sets of 7ish km). He is willing to do LR (for me) and maybe I can push my luck with antihistimines and hot bath before attempt.

My first question is - do you think him following the diet with me (if only the evening meal, which will be totally different from what we normally eat), will be benefitial for my sway? Most of the successful sways I read is often where hubby does nothing different.

My second question is - would you advise any other/different supps or tips that he could do instead that could be better?

My third questions is - should I ask him to kindly take a break from running in lead up to sway? if so how much in advance do you think would be approx useful?

I know there is no 'set' answer but I really appreciate your opionions.

    Ta!x

I don't know about all of this stuff, but I'll tell you some thoughts I have considered for my sway.

Given that we have the guys taking LR when willing and able, I do think there is something to lower testosterone for the guys as well. For that reason, DH has stopped eating meat along with me. If your DH still eats meat sometimes, but has up to 7 fewer meals containing meat (if he does dinner with you) per week, yes, I imagine it would be helpful. But perhaps, not as helpful as if he disconintues meat all together. As annoying as it is, we have tried to do meals in our family that we can all adjust so we can each eat what we need. For example, if we make spaghetti, I take out the noodles after they are cooked and add my veggies or low sodium sauce. DH uses a regular sauce and often adds some sort of soy protien, and we add ground turkey or chicken to the sauce for our growing DS who has quite the appetite! Its a little annoying to do so many variations, but I think its easier on DH to not have to fully commit to my often super bland food, and then he can even get more Soy that I don't want in my diet.

As far as the running, it may be okay. My DH started running recently, it may not be ideal, but he was feelign antsy and I can't let sway totally govern our life anymore. What i did request is that he not do anything to build up too much muscle mass, so no sprinting and certainly no weight lifting, as I don't want those things to raise his testosterone we are trying so hard to keep low.

This is all just my perspective, certainly not the only way.
One fabulous DH, one perfect , and our beautiful HT

Hiya hun! I'm not an expert but in men weight loss usually improves their testosterone production making them more fertile which is bad for ttc a girl. If it was me I would ask him to completely hold off losing any weight until you get your bfp. That's what I'm having my hubby do!

my thoughts - for the diet if he will do it with you then there is probably not much harm providing he doesn't loose too much weight - he needs to gain or stay the same - although if he will give up meat that will help you.

with the running - what sort of effect does it have on him - is he competitive and does it 'fire' him up - your looking overall at lower testosterone. if its a part of him and he loves it then maybe just tog him up in really restrictive underwear and make it work for you - heat is mean't to lower the sperm count - and running is better than weight lifting or anything like that

i am big fan of LR my dh took it three times a day, this combine with the 14 days of FR we did really lowered his sperm count and he really struggled to perform but some girls can't get pregnant if there dh does too much to lower sperm count - for us after three boys we needed to do something - give it a go and see how it affects you and him

my hubby also did calcium, magnesium and cranberry and anti histamine on the day of our attempts at O

at the end of the day you don't want to make him miserable and risk him pulling the plug on the whole thing so its more about finding a balance that will work for you as a couple - anything he does will help, like you said most girls don't get their dh to do anything differntly - what is it Atomic always says - "if daddy ain't happy ain't no-one happy"! or pregnant

Thanks for patience, I'm sorry it took me awhile.

1)DH does not need to do LE Diet but it can't really hurt *unless he was quite overweight*. I can't really say if it will be good for yoru sway or not, there are too many variables that come into play.

    2)I'm sorry, better than what??

3)PLEASE have him continue running, men who run are more likely to have daughters.

This is true and I generally do not recommend weight loss for this reason BUT if a guy were already in decent shape and lost a fair bit of weight, it could help. If he is heavy to begin with, better to hold steady where he's at - body fat on DH can help a pink sway.

Thanks Atomic & Everyone. I appreciate your responses. Sorry Atomic, I didn't phrase my second question well. I was trying to ask if there is anything else that could help in addition to or instead of LR & antihistamines for him (that may have better results?). Also, he actually drinks quite a lot of peppermint tea (as its an alternative to tea/coffee all the time). Is it ok for him to continue to drink peppermint tea whilst taking LR?
    Thanks!

LR is the gold standard for DH sway supps, there's nothing better that I am aware of.

I think it's best to pick either/or pep tea vs. LR. They act in different ways and the pep tea actually undoes some of the good of the LR.

What about soy supp for DH? I´m seriously thinking about it, since it get up the estrogens (probably more than LR does) and get down the testosterone and soy doen´t seems to affect the blood pressure so much...

DH has been taking 2-3 LR for 2 AF-O attemps and I´m a little desperate after 2 chemicals/early mc in a row so I´m thinking alternatives to LR just in case LR was the cause (although probably was diet or too bad maternal condition, I mean, something envolved on implantation, because I get pregnant easily) and think I´m going to give him soy supp for 2 weeks, or maybe 1xLR and 1xSoy....something like this....

He was taking soy milk since started to sway and my gut says me that probably soy (in pills supps) is better to sway pink for my DH. I´m really worried about LR to be doing something else than reducing future sperm production, but damaging present sperm.... could it be?

(Atomic, I wrote you a PM asking about it, so please ignore it, if you have seen it before. Thanks)
