    Swaying and hereditary factors

I was wondering how hereditary factors play into swaying. My mother and her sister both had girls. All the male and female cousins of DH's generation have all had girls (and lots of them, even when trying for boys). Is it possible that we are both biologically more likely to have girls and that any swaying techniques will be more of a precaution than needed?

    Thank you

Ooh interesting. I am not sure that it is that simple though (if only ..) I know a mum who is one of 7 girls and only one boy and she had one of each. Another friend has 3 or 4 sisters and no brothers and she had 4 boys before her whoops baby who was a girl. I am afraid i don't know many ladies from mainly boy families so I cannot compare.

Really good question! I'll look forward to your answer too Atomic. I'm the only one on my Mum's side to have more than one child and no dd. Mum had 2 girls, she was one of 3 girls. Her sisters had 2 girls & a pidgeon pair respectively. One cousin has 2 girls & the other one baby boy. Dh is one of 4 boys though each with different Dads. Just thought with loads of girls on my mum's side & a good mix on my Dad's side I'd have had a good chance at a girl myself.

I am interested in this too Atomic! The main reason I talked myself out of trying. I thought our very strong family history of all boys on both sides of the family would over ride my sway technique.

Love to see what Atomic says. I know I for one come from a very heavy girl family. I had the first boys in a long time. I also know I have a very boy friendly diet & lifestyle. My guess would be that coming from the same family you typically will live a similar lifestyle which could account for family members tending to have more boys or girls.

I worry about this because if my partner has a super high sperm count that makes him way more likely to produce sons then isn't there a chance that his sons will have high sperm counts too and also be more likely to produce more sons? I am just scared that if I do not have a daughter for my next and final child that I may not even get any grand daughters either.
    DPs sons 21 +13 11 + our 6 4 year old identical twins!

I might actually be over my deep yearning for a and it's an exciting feeling
