New and feel I'm too late to start swaying...

Hello all! First off, I'm super excited to have found this site. I didn't know there was so many things that could be done to help sway!!!

I'm a little concerned that I'm going to be starting too late for anything to help

I'm 35 and JUST convinced hubby a few days ago to try for a girl. We have two wonderful boys (aged almost 6 and 3) and I really really want a girl to add to the family. My hubby has a tendency to go back and forth on the third baby and I want to "strike" while the iron is hot, so to speak. I plan to start TTC at the end of March/early April. I figure I'm due for AF around the 21st of March and then will OV around April 4 (I'm pretty regular).

Is this enough time to do a diet and have it be even remotely effective? I know it may be unlikely to conceive on the first attempt, but we often do (I've been pregnant 5 times - 2 of which we conceived the first month of trying, 2 were ooopsies after a, ahem, spontaneous moment). I'm worried about waiting to conceive (as I said I'm 35...and I've had 3 m/c) and want to get started ASAP.

Wow, that was a lot of info for a first post (besides the brief intro I did on the info thread). I look forward to "meeting" all you pink swayers

A little is better than nothing! You might not even get pregnant the first round and it'll work out great then that you'd have been on LE the whole time. Supposedly, you need to be on the diet for 6 weeks AT LEAST for effectiveness, with 3 months being ideal, but you should work with what you have. Maybe you can got super strict on your first try with all the things that tend to delay conception, like aci-jel, tighty-whities, FR or CFR, LR and antihistimine if you want another month for LE to really take effect?

Either way, I'd jump on the exercise. The ladies who are exercising 5-7 days a week for an hour a day (minimum) are getting about 90% pink success, and I think if any tactic has the potential to help you out in such a short period of time, it's that one.

    Good luck!

I agree with Lilith, something is better than nothing. Go hard on the first TTC cycle and see how it goes. Maybe you could also start Vitex now and use protection and go on SP on your first cycle to see how it goes? If you are going with supps as well, that is, some people do only the diet but I think the supps helped me conceive a girl as I totally felt my body changing it's patterns when on Vitex and SP, my cycles got a bit messy and I believe it potentially helped my sway. Wishing you lots of luck with your sway.

im pretty much in the same boat as you are lilth - lets keep each other up to date. im starting vitex, baby aspirin and folic acid from tomorrow and plan to ttc same time as you. will O around 2nd of april. also i take an anti histamine (claritine) regularly for my allergies but i did notice that i go super dry if i take an actifid when the post nasal drips turns to sucky headache and flu like allergy. i live a very sedentary lifestyle so will start my LE diet as well and hopefully start exercising - though im still confused on what kind of exercise to do.

The best exercise is cardio without building muscle, so elliptical machine, biking, treadmill (running or speedwalking) or swimming. You want to push yourself hard enough to really break a sweat, but don't worry about heart rate.

awesome info Does the cardio have to an hour at a time? Or can it be broken up into 30 minute segments? I'm going to buy supplements tonight and start my diet tomorrow. Still trying to decide if I'm going to go LE, vegetarian or IG (?). Still have lots to figure out! But the exercise I can start today

I'm so freaking excited to start TTC'ing. It's been a long almost 4 years of trying to convince hubby!!!!

Sadly, the exercise can't be broken up. It's been theorized that the body starts to cannibalize fat and muscle after at least 45 minutes, and that's one of the aspects that sways pink.

Personally, I think LE's a better bet than IG. After reading this thread, LE sounds like what women are naturally doing to get their DD's:

    Hi and welcome!

I would do what you can do in the here and now, as it is entirely possible that you won't even get pregnant the first month out.
