Quick question for my own understanding. I keep seeing people say bd every four days, I know that one attempt is having great results. But does that mean bd every 4 days with FR or doesn that not matter anymore? I thought the whole point of FR or abstain was to lower sperm count? Why the switch?
Thanks![]()

It is full on baby dancing every 4 days. No protection. The thinking is one of those times will land within your fertile period and no more than once in your fertile period since it only lasts 36 hours. It could land exactly at O or with a day or two cut-off. Since the thinking is that frequency doesn't sway at all this would just be the focus on getting one time in during the F.P. This is for women who don't have clear OPK's or who don't want to worry about frequency or abstaining in any way.

Frequency (abstain or FR) isn't getting great results and doesn't seem to sway all that much. I concieved my son (failed sway) on crazy FR. If you do obe unprotected attempt every 4 days then you're sure to get one attempt and Only attempt only in your fertile window.
Frequency was to do with decreased sperm count which can be accomplished through LR and alcohol and other tactics.2010

The only thing I don't like of bding every 4 days is the whole possibly raising testosterone with the sex. I liked the idea of low testosterone and possibly fooling my body into thinking I wasn't in a stable relationship.

You can wait for a +OPK to bd, then you're not doing it every 4 days. But I have long cycles with multiple OPK "peaks" and often get a string of 4-5 +OPK days in a row so waiting until first +OPK and then bd every 4 days until I'm sure I've O'ed is the best way for me, I'm only getting 4-5 times of DTD in one month I'm not worried about testosterone then.

Oh okay, that's so much easier than FR or abstaining. For me at least. Thank ladies for clearing that up for me

You can also do a CFR before each attempt, using 2nd or 3rd batches if you want to incorporate that to lower sperm count but that could raise t levels so it's a wash to me.

Frequency patterns came out of me trying to figure out other ways to sway pink besides abstain, because it had piss poor results for conception and may not be safe for anyone over 35-40. Since we believe lower sperm count may sway pink, I came up with FR, CFR, and hurry up FR as alternatives to abstain and some people were doing them with one attempt, otehrs with several attempts.
As we have collected statistics, it has become crystal clear that one attempt is much, much more effective than any frequency pattern. I was totally surprised by this and while I did try to come up with any alternate explanation like I do sometimes when stats go funky, I really couldn't come up with anything other than that number of attempts sways in some way that we can only guess at. I do still think frequency patterns still probably sway to some extent, such as if we took 100 couples and had them do no other sway tactics except frequency, maybe a few extra girls might be conceived. But NOTHING like the overwhelming alteration of gender ratio that one attempt is seeming to get (and BTW this has been pretty consistent over time)
Thus, since all the frequency patterns are highly stressful and lower odds of conception considerably, it seems logical to me to de-emphasize them in favor of number of attempts and see what happens. It may stay consistent over time in which case we've made a pretty big discovery and also explained why Shettles seemed to work for people even tho timing doesn't sway. Or, it may go away and then we'll know it was some quirk of the numbers where people who were strictest maybe did one attempt and it was just a coincidence.!!!
