    Exercise Question

Quick question about exercise. I've been reading it's best to do 60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, but I'm just wondering how long this routine should be established before TTC. We were considering trying this month, but I'm just starting working out, so not sure. Thanks for any advice!

I think they recommend 6-8 weeks beforehand. If I conceive next month it would have only been 6 weeks as I got sick and couldn't exercise. There have been people that have only done 4 weeks of cardio and still got girls.

I had this question as well. I've only been working out for 3 weeks and should be ovulating (hopefully) tomorrow and just had our attempt (sorry if tmi). While they advise a longer time, I figure if I start now and don't concieve this month then next month I'll have been working out for the correct time frame. And if I concieve this month then at least I know I tried and what's meant to be will be

Just remember it may take you longer to conceive than planned. Ive been doing 60mins exercise everyday for over 9 months (I did have a 3 month break last summer when I thought about not going for number 3). Great benefits, I am fit enough to be doing marathons now... ;-)

Well, before my first attempt i did it for almost 6 weeks. Then only from af - o
To me, the most important thing exercise sways is bloodsugar level.

The six weeks is recommended mainly because exercise may increase testosteron or that you first built muscles and later decrease it.
But, with a diet low in proteins it's almost impossible to built muscles.

Personally, i would feel fine with four weeks before first attempt.
The longer you are on diet, the less weeks i think. That's why i did only af-o later on.

GL ladies! we have seen great results with exercise!

I say 6 weeks, not because I have a big body of data proving it, but becasue I know that when you start exercising your T levels can go up a bit to start and then lower over time from overtraining. Plus, that's the lenght of time it's taken me to start seeing results with exercise.

    Thank you jennibel, good reminder.

Everyone thinks it won't happen to them but it does happen where people go several months without conceiving, so it's actually better to start sooner so0 you won't waste away to nothing if you don't conceive in 1-2 months.
