Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around. I broke my leg in February & was down for the count for the last 6 weeks. Feeling much better now, woo hoo! Anyways... I started a new diet that involves taking an ECA stack. Ephedrine (taking Bronkaid - used as an appetite suppressant), caffeine for energy, & aspirin to lengthen the effects of the bronkaid. It's helping a lot & in the past week & a half I've lost 8 pounds and I'm barely eating. Under 500 calories a day (I know, extreme, but it's really helping me curb my appetite) my fat isn't bad & I'm keeping my carbs low (under 20 per day but mostly under 10. Here's the question... Instead of doing the LE diet like I was supposed to.. Would I be able to keep doing this? I'm eating a lot of protein 40g per day that's why I'm asking... I don't want to ruin my sway and I've tried diet & exercise & nothing much happens. I also started Zumba along with this diet. Please keep in mind though.. I'm extremely overweight. I'm only 5'4 & weigh 197 right now.. I feel great doing this diet & not sick at all I just don't want it to ruin my sway. I just can't seem to go vegeterian. I love my chicken And steak...

Under 500 calories a day is extremely dangerous! As women we need a minimum of 1200 cals just for our organs and bodies to function. There have been deaths linked to VLCD (very low calorie diets) even when they were around the 800cal mark.
Despite all this....this amount of calories can also send your body into "starvation" mode where it will hold onto any fat you do consume and slow your metabolism, and also affect your thyroid and hormones and do it too long and some of this can be irreversible!! And your body is not likely to conceive at all under such extreme conditions.Mum of 9 boys & my stillborn angel daughter, Shaylah Anne 20/02/2015

Your organs will stop working hun. Maybe see a gp about how many calories you should eat or even get my fitness pal app that's usually helpful you put in how much you wish to lose and your stats then it figures it out for you xx

Especially as you're overweight. The more we weigh, the more calories we need to consume as our BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is higher. As you lose weight your body needs less to be able to function so we can then start reducing calories. But even those who are tiny, should never go under 1200 cals a day.
There are lots of BMR calculators online to give you an estimate of how many calories you need. I'd suggest you find one that also takes into account your activity level and type of job etc, get your BMR and then you can minus 500calories from that for weight loss (unless it adds up to be less that 1200, in which case you don't drop any. More calories but increase exercise).
Hope that makes sense!?!!Mum of 9 boys & my stillborn angel daughter, Shaylah Anne 20/02/2015

I agree that such extreme calorie restriction is unwise, and likely to put your hody in starvation mode which means you won't lose weight due to a halted metabolism. Furthermore, if you're TTC a girl, you should really try to go vegetarian and avoid low carb diets. A lower calorie (1200-1800) diet that is mostly carbs with less protein and fat is best for a girl sway. I wouldn't focus on losing weight or fitnesd, but on swaying successfully, which means staying healthy so you are able to conceive. Ovulation is very sensitive to extreme dieting and if you lose O, you have no chance of getting a girl.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

AUGH I ANSWERED THIS a week ago and it was sitting there in autosave, it must not have gone through.
I do not have a font big enough to write the word NO as large as I would like to.
I don't want anyone having that level of caloric intake. Period, end of story. For all the reasons everyone ever mentioned.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

40 g of protein is the limit of LE Diet, there's nothing wrong with that.
I do want you to eat more calories as you probably surmised by everyone's answer.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
