    Stevia

So does Stevia sway boy in and of itself, or is it just the most boy-friendly sweetener? I guess what I am asking is, is it better to NOT sweeten anything, or is it better to use Stevia?

It's my understanding that Stevia is an all natural sweetener and it has an alkalizing effect. So it's the most boy friendly sweetener and is fine for the boy sway. For me, I usually drink my tea plain and having to put lemon in it nearly killed me so I have to add Stevia to be able to drink it. I don't think the Stevia is necessary in general though.

The honest truth is that we don't know. Stevia is alkalinizing and so has been a part of the blue sway. I think there are a LOT of unknowns with stevia and I do NOT think blue swayers shoudl be chugging it the way pink swayers drink Crystal Light, but at the same time I do know of people who are using it that way for swaying, at least some who are getting boys so I leave it in the sway because the boy diet is so calorie dense anyway. Anyplace we can save some calories, right??

I personally would rather people just ate sugar and protein together (to keep blood sugar steady) and did not rely on the stevia for swaying, but that is at your discretion. Sugar alone eaten by itself is not good for a blue sway, but as long as you eat sweets with protein, better yet a full meal, that will not hurt your sway.

So go for the peanut M and M's instead of the regular!!!

How bad is it for a girl swayer? Sorry...I know this is in the TTC section but I saw the heading and figured I had better find out if I need to quit my "two pack a day habit" of Truvia . I just can't bring myself to go the aspartame route...Guess I could do sugar but I'd rather not if Stevia doesn't sway that much.

I used and had three boys. I have heard it was all natural. I know initially I purchased it at health food store. Now I consume mass quantities if asparatame.

No, not at all, cross-posting is absolutely fine!

I think it's much, much safer for pink swayers to forgo the stevia in favor of sugar. I don't know that I'm convinced that stevia is a magic blue bullet, but I just want you to have the best sway possible and it seems to me to be an easy thing to give up for now.

Have you read this essay?? http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...-pink-and-blue It has info about all the sweeteners and how and why they might sway. You may find another girl-friendly sweetener to use that you like even better.

Okey-dokey...I'm sold! No more Truvia for me! Thx for that link! I knew it was out there but my eyes were failing me! I'll probably do raw sugar or brown sugar. I think sugar will taste better anyway and I can definitely afford the sugar cals. Thx so much!

Okay... so using occasionally is what I will do. I am fine with green tea, lemon water, etc., plain. I will just use the Stevia in moderation for other things. Thanks Atomic!

Ohbi also used it during pregnancy and had no issues. It is made from a plant so also adds fiber to your diet. If I remember correctly it said that on he box. My DH used to tease me about taking my fiber like an old lady while we were dating.
